Text: James 4:6-12 (King James Version)

"But He giveth more Grace, wherefore He saith, ’God resisteth the proud, but giveth Grace unto the humble.’ (v. 7) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (v. 8) Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (v. 9) Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. (v. 10) Humbe yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up. (v. 11) Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. (v. 12) There is One lawgiver, Who is able to save and destroy; who art thou that judgeth another?"

Topic: A Submitted Life!

Each and every one of us are engaged in a conflict with the principalities and powers of this world! If we are going to be victorious, we must submit to Almighty God’s war plan!

One of the most successful coaches in professional footbal history was the late great American coach, Vincent Thomas "Vince" Lombardi (1913 - 1970), winner of the first two official Super Bowl Championships, as coach of the National Football League (BFL) Green Bay Packers! He established himself as a winner and part of the secret to his success was his ability to develop the right game plan!

On the week of a game, Vince Lombardi would meet with the quarterbacks of his team on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, in order to refine the game plan for Sunday’s game! He would go over every detail - he would cover every contingency - and, he would leave nothing to chance! By the close of the Friday meeting, his quarterbacks understood the game plan so perfectly that they were prepared for anything that could happen!

Bryan Bartlett "Bart" Starr (Born: 1934), his starting quarterback, has said that he went into the game - each week - knowing that he would not face any situation that he was not equipped to handle! The result was victory!

The Holy Bible - the written Word of Almighty God - tells us that we are engaged in a conflict with the principalities and powers of this world! Each and every day, we do battle against these enemies who want to destroy us! As Christian true believers, we find ourselves in a struggle with that old adversary the devil - Satan - Lucifer - as we seek to further the Kingdom of Almighty God - and, as he seeks to destroy that samne Kingdom!

So tell me, preacher, "How are we going to be victorious in this conflict against the devil? How are we going to win victory in the "game of life?" The Holy Bible gives us a "game plan" or "war plan" for fighting against the principalities and powers of this world - a "game plan" which if properly carried out will lead to personal victory! If we are to be committed to Jesus, the Christ, and His Church - the Church without spot or wrinkle - we must submit ourselves to His "game plan" or "war plan" so that we will be prepared for every contingency as we seek to win the battle for our Lord and Saviour!

Step one in Almighty God’s "game plan" is submission! The word "submit"
