(9)

Sermon shared by Lito Sacatropiz

September 2007
Summary: All things will pass away
Denomination: Assembly of God
Audience: General adults
Text: 2 Peter 3:10-14, 18

Theme: ALL THINGS WILL PASS AWAY

Intro:

Life on earth is full of work; we need food, clothing, shelter and education. Sometimes people can’t distinguish between wants and needs.

God knows our needs and His promise to supply all our needs. But the fact is a lot of believers now a days have no time to worship and serve God. They are busy in work to meet their needs and material treasures and fame here on earth. A very displeasing to the Lord when our needs and wants in life become a hindrance to our service to the Lord.

One day our worldly treasures and efforts and sacrifices will pass in a moment.

Transitional Sentence: I believe it is wise then to abide in the following three important principles in life.

I. FOCUS YOUR MIND ON THINgS ABOVE (v. 13)
So fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthian 4:18)

B. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1 John 2:15)

C. For everything in the world-the craving of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world…the worlds and its desires pass away but the man who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2: 16-17)

II.FOCUS TO THE CAUSE OF CHRIST (v. 14)

Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life which the Son of man will give you. (John 6:27)
God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you helped his people. (Hebrew 6:10)
Many people they where sacrifice their lives fighting for a worldly cause maybe political cause, a nationalistic cause or even a personal cause ambitions in life. But I tell you, all this cause not last forever.
III. FOCUS GREAT THINGS FOR THE LORD (v. 18)
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To him is glory both new and forever. (1 Peter 3:18)
Therefore me dear brother and sisters stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Timothy 6:7- For we brought nothing in this world, and we can take nothing out of it.

Conclusion:

Therefore my brothers and sisters, let us desire more spiritual things in the end, we will be the wise people on earth.
