1 Samuel 1:1 - 2:21

5-10-2015

Mother’s Day

Over the next several weeks, if the Lord allows we will be looking at the subject of “Prayer”.

I believe most would agree that prayer in your own life is important.

Yet “IF” we had the opportunity to examine our prayer lives so that all could see; I believe most of us would be quite embarrassed.

Today it would seem fitting that we would look at the prayer life of one of the ladies in the Old Testament.

Women are not mentioned as often as men and yet here she is.

Hannah is the Second wife of Elkanam. 2nd because she is mentioned in this order.

Beloved by her husband, yet tormented by the other women in Elkanam’s life.

What could we possibly learn from this second wife?

1 Samuel 1:6

II. The Cry For Help

1 Samuel 1:9-10

III. The Promise To GOD

1 Samuel 1:11

IV. The View Of Others

V. The Agreement Of Prayer

1 Samuel 1:17-18

VI. The Answered Prayer

1 Samuel 1:19-20

VII. The Duties Of An Answered Prayer

VIII. The Cost Of Hannah’s Prayer.

Conclusion:

I have no doubt that The Lord wants to hear from you and me.

I also believe He is capable of answering any prayer “IF” we are willing to allow God’s Will to prevail.

There is no sinner that he cannot save.

There is no backslidden Saint he cannot restore.

There is not need so great that God cannot meet.

There is no desire (in His will) that we cannot ask for.

So I ask a simple question: How’s your prayer life?
