Baptism Of Favour

Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:4-16:10
Denomination: Pentecostal
Date Added: July 2008
Audience: Believer Adults (31 - 49)
Divine favour is a special preference, an act of grace flowing from the throne of God.
Favour is not related to your age, sex, position in society, title in church, physical appearance or educational background.
I Sam. 16:4-10
The man highly favoured was not around; he was in the bush but was searched for, v. 11-12.

What Qualifies You For Favour

 Strong decision for the Lord no matter what others are doing [Exodus 32:25-26]. As a result, Levites were chosen as Lord’s property instead of the firstborns. The case of Rahab is a good example (Joshua 6:25)
 Tireless service (Mal. 3;16-18, Eze. 9:46)
 Constant fellowship with the father Gen. 39:21-22 Psalm 91:7,
Joseph had God constantly by his side and men favoured him
The reason why Jacob favoured Joseph was because when others are gone, Joseph stayed with their father.
Do you want coat of many colours? Stay with God.
 Divine Election (Rom. 9:16, 9:10-13, Mal. 1:2-3)
Jacob was favoured from heaven, he was the apple of God’s eye.
He misbehaved but God favoured him. God changed his name to Israel, but He refused to be called God of Israel but chose God of Jacob, though Jacob means a supplanter.
Judah was chosen out of twelve people from the foundation of the world. Judah did evil-he married his son’s wife through harlotry.Yet he was Gods choice
You belong to the tribe of Judah. You are by election favoured by Heaven (Rom. 8:32).
Judah is the tribe of favour.

What are the results of favour? {Gen. 49:8-12)
 Victory always- David lost no battle
 Superiority- Joseph’s senior bowed to him.
 Authority- Joseph and Daniel became rulers in strange land.
 Enjoy Holy Ghost presence
 Comfortable living
 You’ll conceive miracle and give birth to wonders (Lk. 1:28-31)
