Summary: The innocent, powerful, sin-cleansing, divine, ever-powerful, crimson blood of Jesus Christ is worth talking about and singing about. His blood has never lost its power. It is the only thing that can save the soul of man.

BLESSED BY MEANS OF THE BLOOD

The RED blood applied to a BLACK heart, will make it WHITE as snow.

Acts 20:28

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

1 Co. 6:20

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Co. 7:23

Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

Lev. 17:11

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Heb. 9:22

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

When Adam committed the first sin, there had to be shedding of blood for God to be appeased. Fig leaves were not enough. The clothing made of skins and furs of animals helps us to know that an animal shed its blood for the sacrifice to be accepted to God.

PURCHASED

Jesus paid the highest price to purchase you and me. It was not enough that He created us. He wanted to prove that your soul is worth more than anyone could ever imagine.

The blood of bulls and goats were temporary and symbolic at best.

Jesus came and took the form of mankind to identify with us. Then He laid down His life, letting the blood flow freely from Calvary that it may be known that His blood paid the price for our sins.

REDEEMED

Eph. 1:7

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

I have heard of people who have saved money or something of worth for many years in order to redeem it for a house or a car.

Jesus showed us that your soul has such a high value that the only thing that could redeem it was perfect blood. No one and none other has or had that type of blood. All others are tainted and lacking.

The significance of redeeming blood speaks of a free will offering. He was not forced, coerced, or manipulated to do it. He intentionally gave his lifes' blood as a full price for the soul of man.

JUSTIFIED (made righteous)

Romans 5:9

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Justified = just as if I had never sinned

When we apply the blood of the Lamb to our life, that is exactly how the Lord sees us.

You may have been guilty of many evil things before, but the washing by the blood of Jesus declares you innocent.

PEACE

Col. 1:20

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

We are at war with ourselves and with others until the blood of Christ has been applied.

That is part of the reason we become as "new creatures".

Like a blood transfusion; the life of another enters our being and we are changed for the better.

CLEANSING

1 Jn. 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If you are going to get cleaned up spiritually, you have to get washed in the blood. Without it, you will continue to be a dirty "old man".

It is quite a paradox. Pilate was guilty of the blood of Jesus, and tradition tells us that he practically went crazy as he washed his hands almost continuosly, trying to get the blood off of them. True christians are content in knowing that the blood of Jesus has made them clean.

SANCTIFIED

Heb. 13:12

Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

You may argue over instantaneous or progressive, but the sanctifying work of our souls is wrought by the blood of Christ. All of our good works do not make us one bit more holy.

Like the old song--Jesus paid it ALL.

Our obedience may help keep us sanctified, but it did not make us sanctified.

OVERCOMERS

Rev. 12:11

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

An overcomer is a winner. Living under the blood covenant is what makes us winners. It is what makes us blessed.
