BLOOD – BOUGHT BLESSINGS

A possession of all believers.

Psalms 51: 4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

4. Conviction of sin (ver.4) By the Word.

5. Contrition for sin (ver.5) on the lip

6. Cleansing from sin (ver. 7) by the blood .

Psalms 42: 5I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah

C. Conversion results from God cleansing.

Luke 17: 15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

Forgiveness was bought.

Col.1: 14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

It gives peace.

Col.1: 20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

It gives nearness to God.

Eph. 2: 13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

1st John 1: 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
