Sermon shared by Greg Johnson

December 2007
Summary: Christmas is a time to remember. During this time of the year we are reminded that God came into our world to make a difference in our life. Christmas also reminds us that Christ is coming again. Understanding the present time we are reminded to spirit
Audience: General adults
He will be strong.

REMINDED TO DRESS UP
Christmas reminds us to display outwardly what has already taken place inwardly. God’s Word says (Romans 13:14 NIV) "Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature." As we clothe ourselves with Christ, our actions will reflect Christ. The way we talk, the way we live, the way we look at others will all be impacted significantly as we clothe ourselves with Christ and control our thinking. When the thinking comes into our mind of how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature, we remind ourselves that the old nature died with Christ on the cross. When it tries to resurrect itself through our thinking, we crucify it once again. We don’t even go there. We put those thoughts out of our mind.

Christmas is a great time of year. During the Christmas season, we celebrate God coming into our world the first time and we are reminded that He is coming again. Our day of total redemption is near. Salvation will be completed with the redemption of our bodies when Christ comes again. Be awake and be ready!

If you are not yet a Christ follower, open your heart to Him today. Answer His call. Let go of the world, step out in faith and begin to follow Him. He will take you on an exciting journey from earth to glory.

Know that you are loved,
