Title: Deliver us from Evil

Intro: Mark’s Gospel is written as a action Gospel. John shows us theology, Matthew proves Jesus the Messiah but Mark shows us Christ. Mark believes if you could see in a knew way that you could be changed. That if you could see him you could be sustain. This section of Mark is the teaching section. They are taken through experiences to teach them who God is Peter said you’re the Christ Son of the Living God. Some are you are dealing with things that are to show you who Jesus is. Today our story address deliverance for three groups the church, the family, and the individual. I want to discuss why we need to be delivered, what we can’t do if we’re going to be delivered, Three steps to deliverance and the results of deliverance.

Vs. 14-16 “And when he came to [his] disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them. And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to [him] saluted him. And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them? ”

Why do I need to be Delivered?

1. We need to be delivered because everyone is watching you.

- People are watching you. The disciples were being watched because they professed to know Jesus they had been seen with Him. Jesus asks the question “What question ye with them?” yes it was for information but He really wanted to know how the church could sit around argueing when this boy is hurting we need to quit playing church. “For the earnest expectation of the creation waited for the manifestation of the sons of God.” Rom 8:19

- Jesus is watching you. The declares how long with I suffer you how long will I put up with you bring him unto me." Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not [this] for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went." Ezekial 36:22

2. We need to be delivered because of the effects of sin. Sin is a process in Genesis 4 God told Cain sins waiting at the door the word is Awon it implies a continum. “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” James 1:15

- Boy would be taketh leads us (Eve in the garden), teareth has legal right, gnasheth leaving hell on your way to hell, and pineth left him like a rotten fruit.

3. The scripture says that the boy had been like this since a child. “Of a Child” He’s never been to kingdergarden graduation, never caught fire flies, or pour salt on a snail. You need to be deliver because you don’t know who you are!

What you Can’t do if you’re going to get your deliverance.

Vs. 17-19"And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you?"

1. If your going to get your deliverance you can’t just sit back in the crowd. Luke says, "And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child." Luke 9:38

2. "O faithless Generation", It’s debate amongest scohlars as to who Jesus is talking to is it the Scribes or the crowd. It’s the same debate we have in the church is it the preach, or the congregation. If your going to recieve your deliverance you can’t spend you time pointing finger. We point at everything ex. (Adam and Eve). However the word means race He was talking to everyone. We all have to own up to our part and come up to par.

3. If your going to get your deliverance you can’t give up! The man said the disciples couldn’t cast out the devil. However Jesus had said " Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. "Lk 9:1. Later in the scripture "And he said this kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting." Prayer and Fasting didn’t change God or make Him move faster He’s always wanted to bless you. Prayer and Fasting causes you to be stedfast in your spirit " Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Cr.15:58
