Excellent behavior among the Gentiles

1 Peter 2:12”Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation.”

Early morning the lady staying bang opposite our Abide School from the rear entrance, walked into my office (did not come through the back gate but walked to the main gate with reverence) and offered dhal for the school children. When I was praying for her, she covered her head with reverence as though in Church, I didn’t see such love even among the Christians. I asked her, ‘how did you come to know of Jesus Christ, she said, “I studied in a Christian School and I heard the story of Adam and Eve”, tears were rolling down her cheek while speaking to me. It was an awe moment! I mean the Holy spirit can use any portion of the Bible to touch the gentiles.

She has two sons, who had attended our VBS program held in our Church, now they are in college; however, when we moved into this building, she and her family did not favor us, but as she watched me cooking for the students in the backyard of the School building daily and serve the poor kids, her heart was moved. Every bit of our service is watched by the community around us and one day it will bear fruits. Let this testimony encourage you to serve the Lord with passion and compassion! Share Jesus with this lost world and also live as a testimony so that they glorify God. 1 Peter 4:” 10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

Everyday I share the Gospel with our Abide School students and I was extremely happy to think that they would surely remember the Gospel too.

I have talked a lot of Corrie Ten Boom from her book, ‘The Hiding Place’, but I want to now give you a short note of the work she did for God. She continued her worldwide evangelistic activities until her eighties. For years, she traveled alone, preaching the Gospel of Christ in Cuba, America, Germany, South Africa, Japan, Bermuda, New Zealand, Australia, Spain, England, Denmark, Taiwan, Israel, India, Korea, Argentina, Eastern Europe, Russia. When she was not in Holland, her travels took her to strange places. Who could believe that this old lady was in the midst of Civil Wars in Africa? Who could believe that she was so close to the fighting in Vietnam, where she heard bullets whizzing through the foliage? But there she was in Vietnam crawling creakily out of jeep to deliver the Gospel to a bewildered soldier. Corrie lived until her ninety-first birthday, her old age years were much more productive than her earlier years. God is amazing!
