God-fearing Mother

God-fearing mothers are God-given blessings not only to our homes but also to our society. We cannot imagine how wicked our land would be without the presence of godly mothers in our homes. What an edifying sight to see a godly mother leading her children to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Spiritual investment is truly rewarding.

The amazing result of spiritual investment into a child’s life is well-illustrated by the lives of Lois and Eunice. The high-impact of their faith on Timothy’s life was undeniable. In II Timothy 1:5, it is written, When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. (KJV) We strongly believe that we need Lois-like and Eunice-like mothers in our homes to produce Timothy-like young men in our Churches today.

The Bible reminds us of the great value and importance of godly women in our midst. In Proverbs 31:10, it is written, Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. (KJV) This passage helps us to realize of the rarity of virtuous women in our days. It reminds us also of the incomparable value and quality of a virtuous woman.

A virtuous woman is far better than physically attractive beauty queens. Her moral character so strong stands out above women whose beauty is just passing and deceiving. In Proverbs 31:30, it is written, Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. (KJV)

A careful study of Proverbs 31:10-31 will help us to gain a wider scope of understanding concerning God-fearing mother. As we contemplate on the Word of God, may our hearts be touched and become sensitive toward this relevant message so we may realize the complexities of works every mother has to accomplish in this present life. We really need to pray for God-fearing mothers.

(I) Trustworthy Mother

Proverbs 31:10-12

-The value of a trustworthy mother is more than precious stones

Trustworthy people are priceless and a God-fearing mother is incomparable. The Bible says in Proverbs 31:11-12, The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. (KJV) A husband with a God-fearing wife is a happy man. The unquestionable faithfulness of his wife makes him live in peace and in truth all the days of their married life.

Trustworthy mothers are great and delightful jewels not to be forgotten, but to be well-spoken of. Their lives shine and touch more lives to walk in the way of truth.

(II) Hard-working Mother

Proverbs 31:13-22

-Goal-oriented

A goal-oriented mother will surely be rewarded by the Lord according to the measure of her faith. On the other hand, people without goal will experience hopelessness. Their random steps will lead them to the wilderness of desolation.

-Systematic

A systematic person will never stand on the line of mediocrity. He will not embrace idleness, but is well-focused on his work. A mother who is systematic and well-organized will be delighted by her astounding achievements in life. In Proverbs 31:14-15, it is written, She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth
