God Is Still In Control

Summary: With Operation Iraqi Freedom, 911 and other recent disasters, it seems that chaos rules. But GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL! This message is calming to the mind, soul and spirit.
GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL
I. GOD IS SOVEREIGN
“The Lord reigneth, He is clothed with majesty…”
“The Lord shall reign forever and ever.” Exodus 15:18
“Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” 1 Chronicles 29:11
“For thine is the kingdom…” Matthew 6:13
“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood…And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:13, 16
II. GOD IS MIGHTY IN HIS WORKS
“The Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself”
“Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou breakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.” Psalms 74:13
“Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” Revelation 5:13
Select verses from Job 41 will reveal a creature that is fierce and mighty, yet it is God who created Leviathan, and it is God who has a purpose in Leviathan’s creation.
III. GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL
“The world also is established, that it cannot be moved.”
“He hangeth the earth upon nothing.” Job 26:7
The earth does not rest upon the shoulders of Atlas, or on the back of a cosmic elephant. God keeps the world in a fixed orbit around the sun that sustains our life.
“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.” Matthew 10:29
Creatures that are as cheap and seemingly small to humans has the undivided notice of Yahweh God. There is nothing that happens that He does not know about.
CLOSING
