HAPPY HOME

by Pastor Ric Bernardo, Jr.

Psalm 127:1-5

"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it:except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vin for you to riseup early, to sit up late, to et the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of he womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."

Introduction: Happy Home?… Happy family life? Who wants to have it?… I think … every one dreamed of it… a harmonious relationship between husband and wife! godly children! a stable and peaceful home! Oh, what a great thing to have it!... But how we have it?.. How our dreams of Happy Home became into reality?.. As it were in the beginning, God created Adam and Eve and bind them into a family. God designs marriage… man for a woman… woman for a man… So for a man, the Bible said… “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favor of the Lord.” And for a woman “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace” Today, finding for a right man or a woman is not easy without the guidance of our Lord. God sets a standard to follow, He gave us the Scripture as our guide. So how we begin?.. by praying God’s perfect will…

1. Right Foundation

First, we need to know that building a strong family needs a strong foundation the Bible teaches us how,… by having a Right Foundation… The foundation that God built… “Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain...”.

2. Faithful Love

Secondly, a love that not based on our feeling but patterned after God’s love,.. love that never fails, love that suffered long, love that bears all things, endures all things, love does not jealous, not suspicious, does not proud, does not selfish, does not arrogant, does not act unbecoming, does not meditate upon evil inflicted by another, as if to avenge it, does not find joy in evil but finds its joy in goodness, that is Faithful Love.

3. Harmonious Relationship

Thirdly, the Bible gave us rules to follow for Christian households to have a Harmonious Relationship, as for wife, submitting to her husband, for husband loving his wife and do not be harsh with them, for their children, obeying their parents in everything, for it pleases the lord. For fathers do not embitter the children, or they become discouraged.

4. Raising Godly Children

Fourthly, Raising Godly Children, molding them in a godly way, raising them in the fear of the Lord, let them worship the Lord with you.

5. Healthy Lifestyle

Fifthly, Healthy Lifestyle, God wants us to be physically healthy, by taking care of our body, so to be effective in our everyday activities.

6. Good Fellowship

Sixth, in this world, many marriages broke due to communication gap, lack of freedom to share of his or her inner feelings with his or her partner, let the couples bonds by having a Good Fellowship with each other.

7. Good Stewardship

And lastly, although this character must be in every Christian, but many Christian families still has many conflicts regarding to this matter, financial problems affects so much in the relationship of the family, Good Stewardship as the Lord teaches us to be.

Salvation is the greatest gift that God gave us, and being a Christ-centered family is our way of having a Happy Home,

“Home…. is supposed to be filled with love… love which comes from God… that will keep each member of the family so close together…. Facing any trials with victory…. because love drives them to be in one mind, one heart, and one soul… Glory to God; let us praise Him, who brings love flows to every Christian home… home, can no longer be home without God’s love… LOVE WILL BE OUR HOME!”.
