Help For The Hurting Heart

C. Tonight I would like to share two points that
will help the hearts that are hurting from the
destructive power of sin.

A. Give You A New Heart

a. When Adam and Eve chose to follow the
temptation of the serpent and eat of the
tree of knowledge of good and evil, their
decision drastically affected the human
heart for it became full of evil. At the
present according to the testimony of
Jeremiah, “the heart is deceitful above
all things…” and desperately wicked
(Jeremiah 17:9)

b. God answer to the sinfulness of the human
heart is regeneration, which comes to
everyone who…
i. Release their sin to the Savior
ii. Receive forgiveness from the sin
iii. Repent of their sin

c. After we receive a new heart we will be
able to…
i. Obey the Scriptures
ii. Serve the Savior

B. Guard Your New Heart

a. Knowing God and following His ways involve
a decision in our heart and a dedication
of our minds to remain committed to Him,
seeking first His Kingdom and His

b. If we find that our hunger and thirst for
God and His Kingdom are declining, we must
i. Reevaluate our priorities in life
ii. Reinforce God’s purpose in our life
iii. Earnestly pray for a desire to please
God in life

c. God desires to revive our hearts

ii. Resist the power of Satan (James 4:7)
iii. Receive power from the Savior
(Isaiah 54:17; 1 John 4:4)
