Sermon:
HELP is in the Way!
Pastor Jamie Wright * Maranatha Fellowship Church* 10-17-04

President Bush- When praying about the war in Iraq, what did he pray? Did he pray for guidance, WMD, etc… A MSNBC commentator asked, “I wonder what he prayed.” HELP!

Matthew James wrote his little friend a letter this week. He put it in the mail, it said, Lilly Ann, “Help is on the way!”

When I am around people from Maranatha Fellowship and they are in a jam, I often hear them saying, “Jesus help.”

In 1965 the Bettles cam out with this song,
Help! Somebody!
Help! Not just anybody!
Help! You know I need someone!
Help!

Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” We need to expect God’s help in time of trouble!

Help- to give assistance, to aid, to lend a hand, relieve, alleviate, make easier or improve.

Psalm 54:4 “Behold, God is my helper.” Not alcohol, not drugs, your boyfriend, not your parents, not the government, not SSI, not walfare, not your 401-K, not your weed, not your Xanex or your Zolof, not your MTV or your SOAPS. God is my HELP! Not President Bush, not John Kerry!
We need to realize God is my help!

Genesis 18:14 “Is anything too hard for God?” Put your specific need in this question if you believe God really is your helper.

Is this day in my life too hard for God?
Is this communication problem I am having with my teenager really too hard for God?
Is this financial burden I am carrying too difficult for the Lord?
Is this habit I am trying to break too hard for Him?
Is it too hard for God to get me a job?
Asking the question in this way reminds you that God is personally involved in your life and nudges you to ask for His power to help you!

Psalm 121:1-2 “I will lift mine eyes to the hills- from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and the earth.”
We need to understand our help comes from the Lord!

useless.”

present HELP in time of trouble.
