Summary: Though we are tested and trialed we find that His strength is Perfect through it all.

“His Strength Is Perfect”

Text: Philippians 4:13 & II Corinthians 12:9&10

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”

Introduction:

To often we feel that we are strong enough to handle things on our own. We do everything in our strength and power before we turn to the true strength and power, giver who is Jesus Christ. The song writer penned these words in the song “I Must Tell Jesus”

I must tell Jesus all of my troubles;

He is a kind, compassionate friend;

If I but ask Him, He will deliver,

Make of my troubles quickly an end.

The song writer to “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” said these words:

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Then he goes on to tell us some of the things we should be taking to Jesus in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?

Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.

Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!

In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear

May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.

Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer

Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

Everything that we do whither we are a Christian or not is done only through the strength the we receive through Christ.

Why should we rely on His strength?

Because His strength is Perfect.

When should we rely on His strength?

At all Times. Scripture says Trust in the Lord at always.

How should we rely on His strength?

With all we have.
