Text: 2 Corinthians 4:14-18 (King James Version)
"Knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise us up also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. (v. 15) For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant Grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. (v. 16) For which cause we faint not, but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. (v. 17) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and Eternal weight of glory. (v. 18) While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are unseen are Eternal."
Topic: Hope In Jesus, the Christ!
The Word "redound" in our Holy Scripture text, for today, means to overflow and accrue to "the glory of God." For those of us who are Christian true believers, there is coming a day when we will see Jesus, the Christ, face-to-face - for He is our blessed hope of Eternal Life - a life that He alone can so joyfully promise us and give us as children of Almighty God!
The Disciple/Apostle Matthew, in Matthew 2:1-2 (KJV), tells us: "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem. (v. 2) Saying, 'Where is He that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him.'" Jesus, the Christ, was the hope of the three (3) wise men from the east - who brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrhh, for the baby Jesus!
The Apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 14:12-19 (KJV), tells the church at Corinth and us: "Now if Christ be preached that He rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection? (v. 13) But if there be no resurrection, then is Christ not risen: (v. 14) And if Christ is not risen, then is our preaching in vain, and your faith is also vain; (v. 15) Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God: because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ; whom He raised not up, if so be that the dead do not rise. (v. 17) And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. (v. 18) Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. (v. 19) If in this life only we have a hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable." The word "men" is not gender specific; but, includes both men and women! Jesus, the Christ, is our hope of a future life!
The Apostle Paul, in Colossians 1:23 (KJV), tells the church at Colosse and us: "If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the Gospel which ye have heard and which was preached to every creature which is under Heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister." Jesus, the Christ, is the hope of the Gospel! The Apostle Paul goes on to tell the church at Colosse and us, in Colossians 1:27 (KJV): "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Jesus, the Christ, is the hope of Glory!
The Apostle Paul tells the church at Thessaloniica and us, in 1 Thessalonians 2-4 (KJV): "We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
