How Important Are Our Words

HOW IMPORTANT ARE OUR WORDS?
JAMES 3: 1-13
1My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 5Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
I WANT TO BEGAN THIS MORNING BY ASKING A QUESTION AND IF THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU REALLY FEEL IN YOUR HEART PLEASE DON’T THINK THAT YOU HAVE TO RESPOND JUST SO THOSE AROUND YOU WILL THINK YOU ARE SPIRITUAL
DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS?
DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT IT IS THE WILL OF GOD TO POUR OUT HIS SPIRIT IN THE LAST DAYS LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD IN JOEL CH. 2 AND IN ACTS CH. 2?
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT GOD IS CALLING HIS LAST DAY CHURCH TO WALK IN A HIGHER PLACE WITH HIM THAN EVER BEFORE?
FOLLOW PEACE WITH ALL MEN AND, HOLINESS, WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD
IN THIS VERSE WE ARE TOLD TWO THINGS
#1 IN ORDER TO COME INTO THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD WEATHER IT BE HERE ON EARTH OR IN THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH WE MUST PERUSE PEACE WITH ALL MEN
#2 WE MUST PERUSE HOLINESS
WITHOUT THESE TWO THINGS IN OUR LIFE WE WILL NEVER SEE THE LORD
HOW MANY WANT TO SEE THE LORD?
HOW MANY HAVE A DESIRE TO GO BEYOND THE VEIL OF SEPARATION AND COME INTO THE PRESENCE AND GLORY OF A LIVING GOD
HEBREWS 12:1 TELLS US TO LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT AND THE SIN THAT DOES SO EASILY BESET US
WHAT GOD’S WORD IS TELLING US IS THAT WE MUST GET RID OF ANYTHING THAT WILL HINDER US FROM ENTERING INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD
THAT BRINGS US TO OUR TEXT
THERE IS SO MUCH THE BIBLE HAS TO SAY ON THIS SUBJECT THAT I CANNOT EVEN SCRATCH THE SURFACE THIS MORNING
WE HAVE FORGOTTEN JUST HOW IMPORTANT OUR WORDS ARE
THOSE IN THE WORLD AROUND US USE WORDS ALL THE TIME AND THINK NOTHING OF THE WORDS THEY SPEAK
YOUR WORDS BE JUDGED
v. 36. BUT I SAY UNTO YOU THAT EVERY IDLE WORD THAT MEN SHALL SPEAK THEY SHALL GIVE AN ACCOUNT THEREOF IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT
v. 37. FOR BY THY WORDS THOU SHALL BE JUSTIFIED, AND BY THY WORDS SHALL BE CONDEMNED
IN ISAIAH 57:19 a GOD SAYS
I CREATE THE FRUIT OF THE LIPS
THAT TELLS US THAT THE WORDS THAT COME OUT OF OUR MOUTH WILL BARE FRUIT
A MAN’S BELLY SHALL BE SATISFIED WITH THE FRUIT OF HIS MOUTH, AND WITH THE INCREASE OF HIS LIPS SHALL HE BE FILLED
WHAT COMES OUT OF OUR MOUTH CAN AND WILL EATER BRING BLESSINGS OR CURSING
DEATH AND LIFE ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE, AND THEY THAT LOVE IT SHALL EAT THE FRUIT THEREOF
ALL FRUIT HAS TO BE GROWN
FRUIT DOES NOT JUST HAPPEN, IT IS A DELIBERATE ACT, WEATHER IT BE THE FRUIT OF YOUR GARDEN OR FRUIT THAT ONE MIGHT FIND GROWING WILD IN THE WOODS ALL FRUIT BEGAN BY FIRST SOWING A SEED
THE WORDS THAT COME OUT OF OUR MOUTH WILL EATER HELP CULTIVATE THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT OR THEY WILL GROW THE WORKS OF THE FLESH
