Summary: When age, activities, physical conditions hinder, or it seems we are just spinning our wheels so to speak, we ask "How long must I keep trying"?

Text: Isaiah 6: 1-11

Isaiah was awed at the majesty and power in the presence of God.

He saw the need to minister around him and heard God's command to do so.

The same as in our time, The Prophet saw wickedness on every hand or every side.

The need for God's ministry was so great yet the people were not willing to receive it.

He didn't feel worthy to do God's work because of the environment he lived in. (Verse 5)

The Spirit of God purified him so he could do the work.

The Prophet asks How long Lord? How long do I have to preach to people who don't really want to be bothered with going to Church?

(Verse 11)

God's answer was this, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

In other words, Preach my words and my ways until there is no longer a city with people in it, and until there is no one left in any house, and until the land be completely wasted and desolate.

(My words)

But until then; we must not overlook anyone. We must try to reach the unreachable.

We must try to get the Gospel of Jesus Christ out to hurting people with aching hearts.

When do we give up and stop preaching?

Not as long as there is a wisp of hope.

Nor as long as there is hope of healing.

Mt:12:20: A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

So, as long as there is the least bit of interest, (wisp of smoke or hope) we cannot stop.

We must keep on keeping on.

As long as there is one soul that desires to hear the word of the Lord, We must not give up, nor cease to try.

Lk:18:8-B Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Mt:10:22: And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Again I say, until there is no one left to hear it, the Word of God must be preached!
