Summary: About The Apostle Paul in how they were amazed when he shook off the creature and I can imagine that paul in his mind was saying I got Over The Swelling, when the Devil Desires to take us out we have to take responsibility for ourselves and shake it off

-------------------------The Acts of The Apostle-----------------------------------------------------Chapter 28 4-6 verse-----------------------------

4: And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murder, whom though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5: And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

6: Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, of fallen down dead suddenly, but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

Text: I Got Over the Swelling

Sub-Topic: Shake It Off

In this chapter we find here Paul in a great variety places and circumstances. Here we find Paul on an island, which was not in the plan and was only here because of the storm, which threw them into this island. But nevertheless God had a work for Paul to do here.

Saints sometimes our storms could very well be throwing us into our next place of us being used by God and to do a great work. Even though the elements was caused by the natural occurrences, but God’s purpose and plan.

Give somebody hifi and say “My Storms is Just Taken Me Into the Next Level In God”

You see in Chapter 27 we see that it had been decided that they should sail to Italy. During the course of the trip they met with contrary winds. So they change ships and arrive with much difficulty of a place called Fair Havens, It was at Fair Havens that Paul advised the crew not to set sail for there was impending danger & disaster. However the centurion was more influenced by the Captain of the Ship, than the on who was the Captain of the Sea. If you will notice in Acts 27: 11-12 verse the majority of them ruled that they would set sail anyway.

Often times the Devil will trick you to think that all is well when you disobey the warnings of the Man of God, and it seems that you are rolling along smoothly. But I come to serve you noticed that it didn’t take long before the storm came up. And only if the Saints would learn how to listen to the Man of God some of the situations that we be in could be avoided because sometimes

{2}

We put our own self into situations because we feel that everything was going smooth and we had our ice cream and cake at the sometimes but whenever we take Man’s voice over God. Then we can expect for the Devil to Dog us out.

For the Bible declares that “Let Every Man Be A Liar And His Word Be True”. And the bible also says to “Trust in the Lord With all Thine Heart and Lean Not to Thine Own Understand, But in all thine Ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path”.

Reach over and slap your neighbor and say “Only Trust Him”

But the part that makes me just give God all the glory and honor is when God still gave Paul a word after the storm had taken place. So preacher you mean to tell me that God can still give me a word even when I didn’t follow direction the first time, What a mighty God we serve that will still supply my needs that will still look beyond my faults and see my needs.

Reach over and slap you neighbor and say: God Is An Awesome God”

So as we look deeper into this message we find here that and take note of Paul’s personal decision. The bible says he shook off the creature. Now Paul could have call on others to come and see about him, he could have wined and complained, but he took the responsibility by shaking it off himself. And we as Saints need to learn how to take responsibility for what happens to us.

I know that you might not be able to control the snake jumping on you but you do have a choice in how long you are going to le it hang on to you. And I believe that this is what many of us face is that we don’t know when to let go. U got to get it in your mind I can’t be hung up on he say she say mess, I can’t be hung up on Depression, Oppression, Distress, Poverty, Longsuffering, there has to be a breaking point in your Life where

{3}

U has to take responsibility to say It’s Time to Dust my Feet from this Situation.
