The new year, comes around so quickly it seems like and it usually brings so many the opportunity,†
to reevaluate the different things that they want to see come about in their lives.
New things they want to see happen, new habits they want to see form, take root and develop.
While hoping somehow the changes, that they want to make,†
will happen with just the mere saying that, ďnext year, things will be differentĒ
And that alone, will be enough to kick the old things and the old way of life to the curb, once and for all,
And somehow presto chango, everything will be better, just by waking up the next morning after!
The good news is today, that making a life change is possible,
but its not something that you can accomplish on your own, at least for an extended period of time.
Doing that, definitely takes some supernatural help, thing is most people donít think that they need any.
Thatís why so many people fail with their resolutions each and every year!
Matt. 19:26 NKJ
26. But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ďWith men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.Ē†
Making a life change, is not an easy proposition!
You see, whether you have a lot of material wealth, or whether your having a hard time making ends meet, it doesnít matter!
As long as your trying to do it on your own TBS.(the bible says) its impossible.
A lot of people talk a good game, their always making resolutions and promises to themselves and others as well,†
but the sad part is, that nothing ever seems to come to fruition in their life.
This affects people from all aspects of life
They may very well be church goerís, who have heard the word all their life, never missed a service, very steeped in religion.
The bible tells of one such story and its found in Matt 19:16-26 MSG.
16.Another day, a man stopped Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?"†
17.Jesus said, "Why do you question me about whatís good? God is the One who is good. If you want to enter the life of God, just do what he tells you."†
18-19.The man asked, "What in particular?"†
Jesus said, "Donít murder, donít commit adultery, donít steal, donít lie, honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as you do yourself."†
20.The young man said, "Iíve done all that. Whatís left?"†
21."If you want to give it all youíve got," Jesus replied, "go sell your possessions; give everything to the poor. All your wealth will then be in heaven. Then come follow me."†
22.That was the last thing the young man expected to hear. And so, crest-fallen (very sadly), he walked away. He was holding on tight to a lot of things, and he couldnít bear to let go.†
23-24.As he watched him go, Jesus told his disciples, "Do you have any idea how difficult it is for the rich to enter Godís kingdom? Let me tell you, itís easier to gallop a camel through a needleís eye than for the rich to enter Godís kingdom."†
25.The disciples were staggered. "Then who has any chance at all?"†
26.Jesus looked hard at them and said, "No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it."†
You see, it says "No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself, but every chance in the world if you trust God to do it for you."
