"HE HELPED ME"

Psalm 116:3-9

A Personal Testimony.

1. His CONDITION, "The sorrows of death..the pains of Hell....I found trouble" (v. 3).

3 The ropes of death became tangled around me. The horrors of the grave took hold of me. I experienced pain and agony.

2. His CONFESSION. "I was brought low" (v. 6).

6 The LORD protects defenseless people. When I was weak, he saved me.

3. His PETITION. "I called upon the Name of the Lord" (v. 4).

4 But I kept calling on the name of the LORD: “Please, LORD, rescue me!”

4. His SALVATION. "He helped me...He delivered my soul...mine eyes...and my feet" (vv. 6-8).

6 The LORD protects defenseless people. When I was weak, he saved me.

5. His RESOLUTION. "I will walk before the Lord" (v. 9).

9 I will walk in the LORD'S presence in this world of the living.

6. His CONSOLATION. "Rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee" (v 7).
