Sermons

Summary: The sermons that I have listed are 30 to 40 minute sermons. I have only listed the points and a couple of comments under each point of each sermon to give the preacher a remembrance which the Holy Spirit can lead on and speak through the man of God.

Jesus is Love / Sunday Morning Manna

John 15: 11-13 "These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

In John 15:11-17 the Lord is articulating the believers relationship between each other; then from verse 18-through 26 their relationship to the world. The Lord Himself declared that the two greatest commandments were to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself (Matt. 22:36-40). In 1 John 4:8 states whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. We as believers need to walk in love, it should be at the core of who we are in our heart.

1. The Lord's Joy V:11b

First, we see John talking about the Lord's joy. Jesus" joy was staying in everyday communion with God abiding in His love while being in perfect obedience with the Father.

2. The Christian's joy. V:11c

Second, we see John writing about the Christian's joy. Jesus desired that His disciples would have the same joy by abiding in Him in obedience and in communication through His presence and through prayer. It is the believers joy to know that Jesus is always a knee mail away and that He wants to be involved in every aspect of our life.

3. Jesus' commandment. V:12

Third, we see Jesus states that loving one another is a commandment. Jesus didn't say love them sometimes, or if you feel like it, or when you don't feel like it, or if they love you first, or it's a choice, no He said He commands us to love one another. Jesus even wants us to love His enemies because He died for them as well (Romans, 5:6).

4.The greatest love. V:13

Forth, we see the greatest love ever displayed. The greatest display of love was when Jesus laid down His life for His friends and His enemies because He loved them both. Love requires sacrifice from every one of us. Love is sometimes inconvenient, it sometime requires our time, our sacrifice, and sometimes our money, whichever one it is, love has a price.

5. Commandments results.13:35

Fifth, we see the results of loving one another. Jesus stated if we unconditionally love each other, despite all of our shortcoming it will be a testimony to the world that we are Jesus' disciples. I can't love someone unless I have the unconditional love of Jesus inside my heart. When I start looking through the eyes of Jesus I can see folks as what they can be in Christ instead of seeing them as they are living in their sinful lifestyle. Please feel free to share this with others or use this in your ministry because God gave it to me to give to you.
