VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. CHRIST placed His trust on FATHER GOD

"And again He says, My trust and assured reliance and confident hope shall be fixed in Him."

Trust means have confidence, be confident, be persuaded, persuade. You can only put your trust to Someone you know and that Someone is the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Matthew 27:43 (Amplified Bible)

27:43 He trusts in God; let God deliver Him now if He cares for Him and will have Him, for He said, I am the Son of God.

Isaiah 12:2 (Amplified Bible)

12:2 Behold, God, my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and song; yes, He has become my salvation.

Psalms 18:2 (Amplified Bible)

18:2 The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my keen and firm Strength in Whom I will trust and take refuge, my Shield, and the Horn of my salvation, my High Tower.

John 14:1 (Amplified Bible)

14:1 DO NOT let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.

Opposite of trust is unbelief towards GOD, being crooked, warped, wayward. Example: a corrupt president is not called "corrupt" because he/she steals from the taxes of the people, but a "corrupt" president is called "corrupt" because he/she does not have faith in GOD.

Luke 9:41 (Amplified Bible)

9:41 Jesus answered, O [faithless ones] unbelieving and without trust in God, a perverse (wayward, crooked and warped) generation! Until when and how long am I to be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here [to Me].

B. CHRIST presented us as GOD's children

"And yet again, Here I am, I and the children whom God has given Me."

John 10:29 (Amplified Bible)

10:29 My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all [else]; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father’s hand.

We are GOD's children.

1 John 3:1 (Amplified Bible)

3:1 SEE WHAT [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him.

1 Corinthians 4:15 (Amplified Bible)

4:15 After all, though you should have ten thousand teachers (guides to direct you) in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the glad tidings (the Gospel).

John 17:6-12 (Amplified Bible)

17:6 I have manifested Your Name [I have revealed Your very Self, Your real Self] to the people whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have obeyed and kept Your word.

17:7 Now [at last] they know and understand that all You have given Me belongs to You [is really and truly Yours].

17:8 For the [uttered] words that You gave Me I have given them; and they have received and accepted [them] and have come to know positively and in reality [to believe with absolute assurance] that I came forth from Your presence, and they have believed and are convinced that You did send Me.
