Summary: How can a man be just with God? This is the question Job asked. What could the answer be?

Ever since the time that man fell in the garden, because of his sinful state, he could not have fellowship with God. You see, our God is a holy God. Therefore, sin cannot approach Him. Notice I didn’t say that He couldn’t come near sin. For too long we’ve looked at how sin defiles holiness. It’s time to turn the tables & realize that holiness despells sin.

In this passage we see Job. I’m sure we all know the story...

Job 1:14-19

14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

17 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.(KJV)

Then, to make a long story short, we see Job covered with boils; he lost everything; then his 3 friends show up to encourage him.

These 3 men were telling him how much of a sinner he was & how God was judging him for his sin. There wasn’t an ounce of hope in their words.

Then Job says, I know God hates sin, but there must be a way for a man to be just before God. Then he says...

Job 9:32-33

32 For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.

33 Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.(KJV)

In other words, "he’s not a man like me & I can’t stand in His presence because He’s holy & I’m not. If only there were a daysman (advocate) or someone to plead my case."

He had no advocate! He had no one to plead his case!

But I thank God that today I can read in the scripture

Luke 2:11

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.(KJV)

I can also read...

1 Tim 2:5

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;(KJV)

I’ve found the Daysman!

I’ve found the Mediator! Someone to stand between me & God!

Then we can read in

Rom 5:1-11

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.(KJV)

We are now justified by faith, but it is only through the Blood of Christ.

Whom He Justifies He Sanctifies. Whom He Sanctifies He Glorifies.

In other words, I’ve been made a child of God, "& if children then heirs; heirs of God & joint heirs with Jesus."
