Lessons From the Lady

Luke 8:43-48

Mark 5:25-34, Matthew 9:20-22

Miracles # 09

Out line of the text:

I. Jesus was oh His way to help a sick girl.

NOTE: This was a miracle in the context of a miracle.

II. The introduction to the Lady

A. She had been sick for twelve years.

B. She had spent all her money.

C. Marks Gospel tells that she was getting worse and not ant better.

NOTE: Most Bible teachers believe she was at the point of death. Because of the law of God this lady was unclean and could not fellowship with people. She could go into the temple to offer sacrifices. Because of this sickness she was an outcast

D. Marks Gospel tells us that she knew that if she could get to Jesus just to touch his garment she could be healed.

III. The actions of this lady.

A. She got into the crowd.

B. She crawled on the ground.

C. She touched His hem of the garment.

D. She was healed.

IV. The reaction of Jesus

A. The question. Who touched me?

B. The response: The crowd was big a lot of people touched Him

C. The explanation: No, Power went out of Me.

V. The honesty and humility of the lady.

A. She was not hidden.

B. She was humble

C. She told her story.

VI. The reply of Jesus.

You faith has mad you well.

The Lessons that we learn from this lady.

I. All people have a disease that cannot be healed buy and one but Jesus.

That disease is sin. The wages of Sin is death if a person dies in the sin they hell burn in Hell.

A. Money cannot pay the price for you sins you can give every dime to the church and to other good causes but if you do not accept Jesus you will die and go to Hell.

B. Men cannot cure the disease of sin.

NOTE: The longer sin goes the worse it gets.

II. True faith will not be denied the blessings and healings that Gods gives.

A. Faith made her well.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

B. Faith is the only way we can please God.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

III. True salvation will bring a peace and Joy that cannot be taken away.
