Let It Pour In 2004

Thesis: We need to pray to the Lord to let it pour in 2004. Then we need to expect more of His presence, His oracles, His understanding and His revelations. When He pours out more of His presence in our lives then His oracles come alive with divine understanding which then in turn brings forth divine revelations that help us to know him better and serve him better.

Opening Illustration: Video Clip of Let it Rain song from Michael W. Smith’s video Worship.

This is what we are praying for in 2004. In this video I feel more of His presence when they sing this song. It always opens my heart toward God. I listen to this CD pretty much every time I work out at the gym and every time I get to this point in the CD I feel a surge of the presence of the Lord. It inspires me and always moves me closer to the heartbeat of the Lord.

Michael says, “Let it rain Lord, open the floodgates of Heaven, this is our prayer!” This is my prayer for you in 2004. I sincerely am praying for the Lord to open the floodgates of Heaven into your hearts and lives. Why? Because I know if this happens it will change renew you and transform you.

Did you observe the people in this worship service and see how they are pouring out themselves to the Lord and praying for more of Him and His presence?

Scripture Text: Psalm 62:8:
“Trust in him at all times, O People; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”

Truth is if we pour out our hearts to the Lord like the ones in this worship moment did then He will pour out His heart to us and it will transform our lives.

Action point for New Life Community Church:
We need to pray and ask the Lord to POUR out more of Him into our lives! Let’s pray these words together: “Lord I pray that you would let it rain into my life and open the floodgates of Heaven so that I may experience more of you in 2004.”

When I get more of his presence in my life and I open my heart to his oracles and teachings then understanding starts flowing to me along with divine revelations from Him and I get to know Him better and I learn how to serve Him better.

God has promised us that in the last days He would POUR out more of Himself to us. Listen to these two Bible texts:

Scripture reference:
Joel 2:28-32:
28“And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
30 I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.
32 And everyone who calls
on the name of the LORD will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there will be deliverance,
as the LORD has said,
among the survivors
whom the LORD calls.

Acts 2:14-21:
14Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
