This morning we say that we have come together to worship, but what is true worship. The dictionary give us these definitions.
1.reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.
2.formal or ceremonious rendering of such honor and homage: They attended worship this morning.
3.adoring reverence or regard: excessive worship of business success.
4.the object of adoring reverence or regard.
5.(initial capital letter ) British. a title of honor used in addressing or mentioning certain magistrates and others of high rank or station (usually prec. by Your, His, or Her).
–verb (used with object)
6.to render religious reverence and homage to.
7.to feel an adoring reverence or regard for (any person or thing).
–verb (used without object)
8.to render religious reverence and homage, as to a deity.
9.to attend services of divine worship.
10.to feel an adoring reverence or regard.
From these definitions that I have just given to you, you may be wondering who or what am I suppose to worship? I'm so glad that you ask because I have an answer for you. Exodus 34:14 says: “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” Psalm 29:2 tells us where or how to worship God. It says: “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.”
Now that I have showed you who to worship and where and how to worship, I would like us to look more into the how to worship a little more. There are three areas that I want us to look at in this message.
Needs for Worshiping Personally-
a. To help us grow in the way of Holiness.
b. To receive our personal directions for everyday living.
c. To deepen our relationship with God.
d. A daily scheduled time.
Needs for Worshiping with Family-
a. To help the Family to grow in the way of God.
b. To receive Family directions for everyday life.
c. To deep Family relationship with each other and with
d. A daily scheduled time.
3.Corporate Worship. Hebrews 10:25
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. “
Needs for Worshiping Corporately-
a. To help us grow as the Body of Christ.
b. To receive directions from God.
c. To bring better unity among the children of God.
d. A scheduled time is need for this to happen.
So let us worship Him in the Beauty of Holiness personally, as a family, and corporately as the Body of Christ.
