Sermon:
LETTING GO OF THE ROPE!

INTRO: READ/TELL STORY; AT THE END OF YOUR ROPE?
A). AS I PRAYED FOR A WORD FROM GOD FOR 2000.
B). SAME EVERY YR “LET GO AND LET GOD BE GOD IN OUR
LIFE
C). THERE ARE FOLKS NOT EVEN SCRATCHING THE SURFACE AS
TO WHAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR THEM IS CHILDREN.
D). “EYE HAS NOT SEEN, EAR HAS NOT HEARD, NOR
ENTERED INTO THE HEART OF MAN..."
E). WE ARE HOLDING BACK OUR LIVES FROM GOD AND THUS
HE HAS TO HOLD BACK FROM US.
F). “WHATEVER IS BOUND ON EARTH, SHALL BE BOUND IN
HEAVEN”
G). READ MK 15:1 “…BOUND THE HANDS OF JESUS…”
H). REASON WE ARE NOT SCRATCHING THE SURFACE, WE ARE
SPIRITUALLY BINDING THE HANDS OF JESUS.
I). WE ARE NOT RECEIVING, OR BECOMING ALL THAT JESUS
DIED FOR US TO HAVE AND BECOME.
J). “OPEN THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN…” NOT FLUFF, MEANS IT.
K). FOR THE UPCOMING WEEKS, MONTHS, WELL INTO THE YEAR
WE WILL BE CONCENTRATING ON LETTING GO OF THE ROPE.
J). LOOKING AT HOW WE CAN STOP PUTTING LIMITS ON JESUS
AND HIS POWER IN OUR LIFE

1). JN 10:8-10 – “IF I LET GO, WHAT WILL I FALL INTO?”
A). JESUS TELLS US WHAT HE HAS FOR US; AN ABUNDANT
LIFE!
B). “GOD IS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT Y2K, GOD IS ……YOU”
C). JESUS IS CONCERNED THE LIFE YOU HAVE OR DON’T HAVE.
D). HE IS CONCERNED BECAUSE HE IS THE “GOOD SHEPHERD”.
E). A GOOD SHEPHERD “PROMOTES AND PROTECTS” LIFE, THE
FALSE/BAD SHEPHERD TAKES LIFE (KILLS, STEALS)
F). AS THE SHEPHERD, HE IS THE DOOR TO THE ABUNDANT
LIFE.
1). REFERRING TO “FIELD PEN” (CAVE, MUD STRUCTURE)
2). WITH ONE ENTRANCE, THE SHEPHERD WOULD LAY HIS
BODY IN THE ENTRANCE WAY. KEEPING THE SHEEP IN
AND THE WOLVES OUT; HE LITERALLY WAS “THE DOOR”
G). TO TRY AND OBTAIN THIS LIFE ANY OTHER WAY; THIEF.
H). GOOD SHEPHERD GIVES HIS LIFE FOR THE FLOCK, SO
THAT THE SHEEP CAN HAVE AN ABUNDANT LIFE.

2). AN ABUNDANT LIFE:
A). IT IS NOT GOD’S WILL THAT WE EEK OUT A LIFE,
STRUGGLE, BARELY SURVIVE IN THIS WORLD.
B). NOT TALKING FINANCIALLY, MATERIALLY, BUT
SPIRITUALLY.
C). THIS IS ABOUT TRUE PROSPERITY (PEACE IN LIFE).
D). PROBLEM: FOLKS TRYING TO FAKE IT UNTIL THEY MAKE
IT.
E). NOT GETTING OR BECOMING ALL THAT GOD HAS ORDAINED.
F). THE ABUNDANT LIFE IS; AN EXCEEDING LIFE, ABOVE
MEASURE, SUPREME, UNCOMMON (PECULIAR), SURPASSING.
G). THE ABSOLUTE FULLNESS OF LIFE, REAL AND GENUINE.
H). ANYTHING LESS AND YOUR CHEATING YOURSELF.
I). THERE ARE GOING TO BE FOLKS THAT STAND IN JUDGMENT
AND WILL NOT BELIEVE ALL THAT GOD HAS CALLED THEM
TO HAVE AND TO BECOME.

3). 2 KINGS 4:1-7
A). NEED OF MONEY TO PAY DEBTS (HUSBAND PASSED AWAY)
B). SHE HAD “A” POT OF OIL.
C). GO TO NEIGHBORS AND BRINGS VESSELS (EVEN EMPTY)
D). SHE BEGAN TO POUR FROM HER ONE POT INTO ALL THE
OTHERS. AS THEY WERE FILLED SHE SAT THEM ASIDE.
E). IMPORTANT: THE OIL DID NOT RUN OUT, BUT THE
VESSELS.
F). SHE LIMITED GOD, HER BLESSINGS, BY LIMITING THE
NUMBER OF VESSELS SHE BROUGHT.
G). GOD HAS OPENED THE DOOR FOR 2000, THE ONLY
LIMITATIONS OR THE ONLY THING STOPPING US IS US.
H). WHEN WE REFUSE TO LET GOD BE GOD, WE HINDER THE
ABUNDANT LIFE HE HAS ORDAINED US TO HAVE.

CONCLUSION:
A). SOME MAY SAY “I’M NOT IN NEED OF ANYTHING”
B). UNDERSTAND: OUR BEING BLESSED IS NOT JUST FOR US.
C). GOD BLESSES US TO BE A BLESSING.
D). NOT ONLY TRYING
