Summary: This was one of the greatest services we have ever had. Hope it blesses you and other churches.

In the Moment Text: Jeremiah 33:1-3

1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still shut up in the court of the prison, saying, 2 “Thus says the LORD who made it, the LORD who formed it to establish it (the LORD is His name): 3 ‘Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Though Jeremiah was shut up in bondage, the word of God was "not bound." It is promised that the people, who keep their hope and faith in the Lord even though they are long in sorrow, shall again be filled with joy. No matter what you are facing if you want every step you make to belong unto Him live in the moment!

Listen, many people live in the past (memories) some people live with regret, and even some people live in the future. (What does tomorrow hold?)Jesus Christ is in your moment; He’s living real time with you!

I received a nice 3 page brochure from the IRS giving me an estimation of what I will have when I reach 67 or if I choose to work until 70. I was showing it to my wife and I began to think about the worries of not having enough even if I work until 70. The Lord checked me and said, “Are you going to live 30 years in the future and worry, or will you trust Me to take care of you right now?” (The enemy hates for a believer to live in the moment with Jesus Christ!)

Look at Jeremiah 32:1-4 (It will help put the text this morning in context/ if there was a second time found in the text, here’s the first time.) 1.The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar. 2 For then the king of Babylon’s army besieged Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah’s house. 3 For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, “Why do you prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it; 4 and Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape from the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him face to face, and see him eye to eye;

Think about this, the weeping prophet is shut up by his own peers who don’t want to hear what Jeremiah has to say! What a low blow unto Jeremiah.

But Jeremiah was living in the moment or maybe what we would call in the 21st century ‘Real Time.’ Jeremiah was God’s present spokes men, but Judah didn’t like it because it was a harsh word against them, and not their enemies, but God had a greater plan!

Judah wanted to sin and live any ole way; worship pagan gods while still having the luxury of fine things!

Even while Judah sinned directly against God; God proclaims who He will be for Judah and for men and women to come. “THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” (Jer. 33:16) God was willing to trap Judah and capture them for their own good!

Jeremiah 33:17 For thus says the LORD: ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

In other words, out of David’s linage will come the Messiah; there will be no breakage, or loose ends because “I the LORD will take care of My people!” (Even if I have to shut them up and shut them down!)

These two chapters have brought new meaning to God’s love unto me! I can’t remember if it’s in chapter 32 or 33, but God proclaims how He loves Judah and genarations to come. He cries out "I love them with all My heart, and strenght." All along I thought Jesus was the first to proclaim this in John 13:34-35 for humanity to heed to, but He’s already loved us this way! ( Search it out I could, but it would be worth while for you to hear God through His word say this about you!

Jer. 32:17‘Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.

Again, these same words are found in the N.T. from men and women. Just as God took care of Judah and Christ the Messiah came from the linage of David; God will take care of you!

II. Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
