(1)

Sermon shared by Jimmy Haile

May 2011
Summary: Some Scriptures and thoughts about Motherís Day!
Denomination: Baptist
Audience: General adults
Sermon:
Proverbs 23:22-Listen to your father who begot you, And do not despise your mother when she is old.

Proverbs 23:24-25-The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who begets a wise child will delight in him.
Let your father and your mother be glad, And let her who bore you rejoice.

Make your parents proud!

Proverbs 22:6-Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Your responsibility is to raise them right, to lay the foundation but the choices they make when they get grown (When they donít want to listen to you and want to do things their own way! No matter how much they try to blame you!), the responsibility has transferred to them! They are responsible for their actions

Proverbs 5:18-Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth.

Proverbs 18:22-He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.

If you have a good wife and sheís a good mother, then you are truly blessed,
If sheís have decent wife and a half decent mother, then your still blessed, because there are a lot out in this world who are not!

Psalm 139:13-18-For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my motherís womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.

Remember that God made you, there maybe things about yourself that you donít like (Hair color, Height, Eye colorÖ.) but you need to remember that He created you just the way He waned you to be and because He created you in your motherís womb, then that means He gave you the mother He wants you to have, (Even if you donít believe that sometimes!).

Psalm 127:3-Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward

That is right! Children are a blessing, even if it seems like at times itís a curse (Teenage years) instead of a blessing!

Proverbs 14:1-The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

Moms, you are to build up your children, their confidence, their self-esteem and how quickly you can tear those things down, with the words you use!

Proverbs 31:10-31-Who find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.
She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands.
She is like the merchant ships, She brings her
