OCCASION: Sunday Morning Worship Service

CASE STUDY: King Solomon

REFERENCE: 1 Kings 3:3, 5-15; 2 Chronicles 1:6-12

No matter how bold our requests may seem, God can do all we ask and much more.

God's means for accomplishing more than we can imagine comes through His strength. His work is done by the Holy Spirit's power within us, rather than by our human strength.

Joseph is recorded in Genesis 50:20 as saying to his brothers, “You meant evil against me, but God used it for good.” What a story with great implications for our own lives. What the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good.

The evil expectations of your enemy concerning you will be converted to good fortunes on your behalf. It doesn't matter what your enemy is planning against you in this new year.

Anything they plan will backfire and their evil intentions against you will lead to your elevation in the name of Jesus. When Haman plotted mischief, disgrace and shame for Mordecai, the Almighty turned it to promotion for Mordecai and the evil of Haman returned to him.

Romans 8:28 KJV

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

This year every evil plot concerning you will backfire. Every evil load of shame, disgrace and harm will go back to the sender.

Exceedingly abundantly - God is omnipotent! There is nothing God cannot do. Luke 1:37 tells us that there is no impossibility with God.

There is no need for humanity that God cannot meet. He created the world and every resource in it that we enjoy to date. Only God can do the unthinkable and unimaginable. Only God can give us a real surprise. God can do beyond expectation. God can do the impossible.

Above All That We Ask or Think

Only God in His infinite power and wisdom can give us the unimaginable and the unthinkable.

Dearly beloved, God will surprise you this season. Our God is all-sufficient. By His Spirit of power, He does the unexpected for His children. Let us use Solomon as a case study:

How Did Solomon Showed That He Love God?

Solomon showed his love for the LORD by walking according to the statutes of his father David, In John 14:15, Jesus tells us, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

In other words, if you love me, walk in my ways and do what I please. That was the exact thing Solomon was doing to show that he loves God. Doing what pleases our loved ones is easier than pleasing our enemies. There is nothing good you do that will ever please an enemy.

Solomon demonstrated His love for God by giving Him a burnt offering and building a place of worship (temple) for the Lord.

This year as you expect so much from God, what do you have on your heart and in your mind to give to the Lord as an expression of your love and Thanksgiving? Giving is an act of God. God loves cheerful givers and His blessings are always with them. As soon as Solomon gave in support of God's work, he had a divine visitation and what he imagined from God was mind-blowing.

May you receive a divine visitation that will change your life for good this year as you give to support the kingdom work of the ministry. Shalom Aleichem!
