Summary: The Hebrew’s were slaves under the hand of a hard task-master. Mankind is slaves to sin and it certainly is a hard task-master. No mercy, no ease, no release. However, God, by a strong hand has delivered us from the bondage of sin. We are not brick makers

“And then Jonah heard God’s voice. “Jonah, do you know what the difference is between you and the trees?” “Yes,” he said. “The difference between me and the trees is that the trees let go of their leaves. I keep holding onto mine. The trees make room for new life. I don’t.” ― David W. Jones, Going Nuts!

Exodus 5:4-9; Romans 6:20

The Hebrew’s were slaves under the hand of a hard task-master.

Mankind is slaves to sin and it certainly is a hard task-master.

No mercy, no ease, no release.

Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you can afford to pay.

Galatians 5:19-21 (ERV): “19 The wrong things the sinful self does are clear: committing sexual sin, being morally bad, doing all kinds of shameful things, 20 worshiping false gods, taking part in witchcraft, hating people, causing trouble, being jealous, angry or selfish, causing people to argue and divide into separate groups, 21 being filled with envy, getting drunk, having wild parties, and doing other things like this. I warn you now as I warned you before: The people who do these things will not have a part in God’s kingdom.”

Sin is bad!

Sin/Sins: Sin = Character; Sins = behaviors.

Many people what to try and control, oppress, keep in check their “bad” behaviors… sins.

However, if you do not change the Character, it will again produce what is lying within it.

Think of it like soil (Character); If the soil has grass seeds (sins) within it, then no matter how many corn seeds you plant, the grass is going to come up to. Sure you can pull cut the grass down with a hoe, but it will just keep coming back.

Therefore you “must” kill, remove the grass seed from the soil.

Revelation 21:5 “And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new…”

II Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

We are “shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” –Psalm 51:5

We are all born with a sin (fallen) nature. A bad character if you will.

Romans 3:10, 23 “10- …There is none righteous, no, not one: 23- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

That is why we “must” be Born Again:

John 3:5, Jesus said, “…Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

A person addicted to drugs will crave them above all reason, even into self-destruction (self – de – construction).

God, God’s Spirit and God’s Word is all about Re-Construction.

Jesus said in John 2:19 “…Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

The grave could not be Holden of Him. Sin could not destroy Him.

II Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him[Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

If therefore we are His and He is ours the grave will not hold us for sin will not destroy us!

Genesis 11:1-4 “1- And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2- And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3- And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4- And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name...”
