Text: Psalm 37:22-31 (King James Version)
"For such as be blessed of Him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of Him shall be cut off. (v. 23) The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in His way. (v. 24) Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with His hand. (v. 25) I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. (v. 26) He is ever merciful, and lendeth, and his seed is blessed, (v. 27) Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. (v. 28) For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not His saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. (v. 29) The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell therein for ever. (v. 30) The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. (v. 31) The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide."
Topic: Not By Chance - Nor By Happenstance!
The steps of a good man or a good woman are ordered by the Lord: and he or she delighteth in His way - it is not by chance - nor, is it by happenstance that the lives of Christian true believers unfold!
The late great American writer of religious and inspirational poetry, Helen Steiner Rice (1900 - 1981), in her poem entitled, "Not By Chance Nor Happenstance," says it well:
***Into our lives come many things
***to break the dull routine.
***The things we had not planned on
***that happen unforeseen,
***The unexpected little joys
***that are scattered on our way.
***Success we didn’t count on
***or a rare, fulfilling day -
***A catchy, little melody
***that makes us want to dance,
***A nameless exaltation
***of enchantment aNd romance -
***An unsought word of kindness,
***A compliment or two
***That sets the eye to gleaming
***like crystal drops of dew -
***The unplanned sudden meeting
***that comes with sweet surprise
***And lights the heart with happiness
***like a rainbow in the skies...
***Now some folks call it fickle fate
***And some folks call it chance,
***While others just accept it
***As a pleasant happenstance -
*** But no matter what you call it,
***It didn’t come without design,
***For all our lives are fashioned
***By the HAND THAT IS DIVINE -
***And every happy happening
***And every lucky break
***Are little gifts from God above
***That are ours to freely take."
When we allow Almighty God to order our steps, our walk is much like a spiritual marriage - Jesus, the Christ, the Bridegroom, has sought us out for Eternal relationship! Each and every one of us has a different temperament - we use different thought processes - we are at different levels of spiritual maturity - hence, we each have a unique relationship with Jesus, the Christ!
Our "Omniscient" God - an all-knowing God - is well aware of our individuality; and, He wants to give us just what we need to grow in our daily walk with Him! His response to our acceptance to "walk in His garden" is unique and crafted especially for us! Each of us has our "own experience" with Almighty God! Notice, Almighty God never spoke to anyone else from a "burning bush" - that was unique to Moses!
