VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. JESUS is our High Priest because we are royal priesthood

"NOW THE main point of what we have to say is this: We have such a High Priest,"

Heb 7:26-28 (Contemporary English Version)

Heb 7:26 Jesus is the high priest we need. He is holy and innocent and faultless, and not at all like us sinners. Jesus is honored above all beings in heaven,

Heb 7:27 and he is better than any other high priest. Jesus doesn't need to offer sacrifices each day for his own sins and then for the sins of the people. He offered a sacrifice once for all, when he gave himself.

Heb 7:28 The Law appoints priests who have weaknesses. But God's promise, which came later than the Law, appoints his Son. And he is the perfect high priest forever.

We are GOD's royal priesthood, that's why we need a High Priest, and that is JESUS our LORD who is seated at the right hand of GOD. GOD requested Him to sit at His right hand, and not JESUS' idea.

Psalms 110:1 (Amplified Bible)

110:1 A Psalm of David. THE LORD (God) says to my Lord (the Messiah), Sit at My right hand, until I make Your adversaries Your footstool.

Colossians 3:1-3 (Amplified Bible)

3:1 IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

3:2 And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.

3:3 For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.

1 Peter 2:9 (Amplified Bible)

2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

B. JESUS is seated at the right hand of GOD

"One Who is seated at the right hand of the majestic [God] in heaven,"

Hebrews 1:3 (Amplified Bible)

1:3 He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,

Hebrews 10:12 (Amplified Bible)

10:12 Whereas this One [Christ], after He had offered a single sacrifice for our sins [that shall avail] for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,

Hebrews 12:2 (Amplified Bible)

12:2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Revelation 3:21 (Amplified Bible)
