Understanding our prayer life IS SPIRITUAL.
THE BIG IDEA: We must understand our prayer life is Spiritual. Sounds simple enough, But when we realize the position of the HOLY SPIRIT in our prayer life as our intercessor, this Spiritual Intercessory effectually fervent prayer, becomes WORSHIP in its highest form
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
IN THIS WORLD, WE MUST PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD to be well equipped each day.
BE STRONG
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
THE BATTLE IS SPIRITUAL – THEREFORE WE MUST LEARN TO BATTLE IN THE SPIRIT
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
REALIZE THE EVIL IN OUR DAY IS FROM satan
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
STAND FIRM
TRUTH – GOD’S WORD IS TRUTH, THE TRUTH IS THAT EVIL IS DEFEATED
RIGHTEOUSNESS – JESUS IS OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, THE BREASTPLATE OF GOD’S APPROVAL. WE ARE APPROVED BY GOD THROUGH AND BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
READY TO SHARE THE GOOD NEWS OF GOD’S PEACE
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
FAITH IS OUR DEFENSE SHIELD AGAINST THE ATTACKS.
BE STRONG AND STAND BEHIND YOUR FAITH!
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
SALVATION – THE CHANGED/REPENTANCE OF OUR MINDS
GOD’S WORD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, CAPABLE OF DIVIDING GOOD AND EVIL, AND GET TO THE ROOT.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
HOW DO WE BATTLE IN THE SPIRIT?
PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT ON OUR OWN BEHALF, AND FOR OTHER BELIEVERS
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT – PRAYING WITH THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
THE HOLY SPIRIT KNOWS OUR WEAKNESSES
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
WE DON’T ALWAYS KNOW HOW WE SHOULD PRAY
THEREFORE THE HOLY GHOST PRAYS WITH US
UNDERSTAND THAT PRAYER IS WORSHIP
WE ARE TO WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH
WORSHIP IN SPIRIT, PRAY IN SPIRIT, PRAY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
GOD’S WORD IS TRUTH – PRAYING THE SCRIPTURES)
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
THE HOLY GHOST SPIRIT AS INTERCESSOR FOR US, HELPS US TO KNOW THE THE POWER, BLESSINGS, MERCY, LOVE, HEALING, FREEDOM, REDEMPTION, FORGIVENESS, AND HEART OF GOD
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
REMEMBER: JESUS CAME NOT TO CONDEMN THE WORLD, BUT TO SAVE IT
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
SO, TO PRAY WITH THE HOLY GHOST SPIRIT, IS SIMPLY TO PRAY.
PUT YOUR MIND TO SPEAK WITH YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER, AS JESUS TAUGHT, OUR FATHER WHO ARE IN HEAVEN.
PRACTICE PRAYING OUT LOUD.
PRAYER LANGUAGE CAN BE NATIVE, OR IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
