Prayers to kill affliction

(475)

Sermon shared by Daniel Olukoya

June 2006
Summary: The more the power of God in your life, the more the enemies that will battle you. The greater the anointing, the greater the warfare. The brighter your destiny, the harsher your attackers.
Denomination: Pentecostal
Audience: General adults
Sermon:

The Bible clearly reveals theaimsandobjectives of Jesus’ earthly ministry. In 1John 3:8, it says, “... For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” One of the enemy’s works is affliction.
This eye-opening message is loaded with power to turn around your situation, deliver you from affliction and make your captives, those to whom you were once a captive. Read it carefully and prayerfully. It is time to receive your freedom!
Psalm 34:19-20: Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
This text shows that the fact that you are righteous does not mean you cannot be afflicted. In fact, immediately you decide to be righteous, your affliction will increase. The more the power of God in your life, the more the enemies that will battle you. The greater the anointing, the greater the warfare. The brighter your destiny, the harsher your attackers. However, the Bible says: “The Lord delivereth him out of them all.” This means hundred percent deliverance. I pray that any power that wants to break your bones shall be broken into pieces in the name of Jesus.
Nahum 1:9: What do ye imagine against the Lord? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
This means God can kill completely because He is the Lord of hosts. The writer is asking what you think the Lord is and is telling you that affliction shall not rise a second time.
James 5:13: Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
This is a recommendation to anyone who is afflicted. It says: “... Let him pray.” It does not say- let him cry or worry, or fight everyone in the house. It does not say that the person should drink alcohol or smoke Indian hemp or cigarette or commit suicide. However, it does not tell us which kind of prayers to pray.
CHARACTERISTICS OF AFFLICTION
1. It causes pain.
2. It causes suffering.
3. It causes a man or a woman to be knocked about here and there.
4. It causes embarrassment and harassment.
5. It causes a person to be knocked down completely.
6. It causes weakness.
7. It causes trouble.
8. It causes a person to be burdened.
9. It causes a person to be distressed
10. It causes oppression.
11. It causes torments.
12. It causes a person to be smitten.
The Bible makes us to understand that the rising of affliction is a fact, and that it can rise a second time. The second coming of infirmity is a fact .

AFFLICTION THAT RISES AGAIN
1. The one that is on a killing mission. That is, it did not arrive at killing the person the first time hence, it comes back so that the person would die.
2. The one that is programmed against a person and has been lectured by the devil to make sure the person does not have peace. Therefore, it torments and runs after the person.
3. The one that is bound but not dead.

a few months back, I saw a vision in my dreamed that I did not liked and understood . I decided to bring it into prayer. As I kneeled down, I said "father we need to have a talk" I opened the bible to read a couple a psalms before I started to pray, when the page turned to jeremiah 33v3. I said then with humbleness thank you father for already answered my prayers ,by promisse to show me great and mighty things that I don't know about.to make my long story short since I have a whole lot of testimonies and visions to share. God in his mercies and wisdoms decided , Dr Olukoya was the answer for the knowledge that my father God promissed me. I found where to purchase his books and I even found a church of mountain fire that I visited once for a delivrance service on 7/7/07 wich I did not know anything about.I pray that God will continue to bless such a man of God and to increase his knwoledge and wisdom. Every single of his book that I read as well as any of his message is a world of knowledge and blessings" PRAISE GOD "

I thank God for using Dr Olukoya to expose some of this event of life. Affliction has thought me a lot of lessons but the greatest part of it is that It has helped my life catapaulted up. I realized just as the sermon says that greater you will be, the more affliction u faced. Since I joined MFN last year my testimony has really changed I no longer sit by the rivers of Babylon wailing but rise up to face most of the challenges with the armour of God wth me. Today after 7 years of no good job I was blessed with an International Job and many good and new things are coming my way. Then I know that even in the midst of trouble Jehova God never leaves me nor forsake me, he is working out things for me.
