Summary: Three part series of being prepared by God

You Got to Know the Ghost Named Holy!

John 14:1-4 & 16-18

Acts 1:8

In the opening of the 14th chapter of the dissertation rendered by John, he is painting a vivid picture of the moments of preparation of the disciples by Jesus Christ during His final hours with them. The opening statement of this chapter by Jesus gives us a glimpse of the mindset of His boys. It gives you a glimmer of their demeanor. It lets us see that their core had been shaken. Here they are, just leaving what they thought was going to be a celebration, and hanging out party, that turned sour. Here at this meal that John and Peter had taken all the necessary steps to make certain everything was just right, only to be exposed and put on front street when Jesus told them He would be denied and rejected by His own. Can you imagine how they must have felt? Peter I could imagine felt like a small bug and wanted to crawl under a rock. Always boasting about being the one who loved Jesus, the most, only to be told he would deny Jesus three times before the rooster climbed up on the pole and went cock-a – doodle-do.

I imagine they were beside themselves. Wondering and worrying “now what?” They had assumed that Jesus would call down a host of angels and take out everyone who ever hurt them or tried to destroy them, “Now What”… I’m certain Thomas probably smirked and said to himself “I knew this stuff was too good to be true….” Andrew might have nudged Peter and said, “I thought he was your boy….” John may have shed a tear because he was about to loose a friend, and we already know that Judas snuck out like a weasel! The same one who had told them He was the way, the truth and the light… Now What…

We have all been in this exact place at sometime in our lives. Some are right there right now! Asking ourselves, “NOW WHAT”. Saying “God, you told me to trust you, but things looking kinda shaky right now. You told me to lean on you, but um…. How can I lean on you when I’m out here all by myself… You said you would provide…but I’m at the midnight hour, and the clock is about to strike the final stroke… NOW WHAT? Stuff just ain’t right…. Now What… Things going awry, Now What… Bills due, folk backing out, parents messing up, kids acting crazy, spouses taking coo coo pills, bosses two shakes past nuts, and I can’t see no help…. NOW WHAT? Stuff hitting the fan, the newest turn of events has left me knocked smooth out…. NOW WHAT? We’ve been there…. If we were honest somebody would say…. still am!

But these first few verses tells us – don’t be scared – don’t be worried – don’t be concerned – it’s a part of a perfected plan…. It’s a part of God’s divine order…. Just believe in me --- trust me enough to believe I’m going to prepare a place for you, so that where I am you will be there too. So many of us embrace this statement as Jesus is getting our house in order in heaven. But when you read the word – and allow the Ghost named Holy, to begin to do more than allow you to read the words, but begins to allow you to absorb their meaning… you will become excited by this scripture. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” (I Corinthians 6:19-20)

So when Jesus says in my Father’s house are many mansions, and I am going there to prepare your place, he is talking about preparing us to house the Holy Ghost! Go down to vs. 16-18 in John 14 – you will find his statement…after telling you get this thing if you are obedient… I am not going to leave you like an orphan…. cuz I am going to prepare you so that you can be where I am. Not happily, ever after way downs the road, but so you can be with me now! In fact the very last thing Jesus told his boys before ascending into heaven was to wait on the Ghost named Holy, and that when it came – it would give them POWER (Acts 1:8)

Cuz see I believe the boys heard Jesus when He said, I’m going. But they did like we do when we hear bad news…they probably clocked out….and didn’t hear “to prepare a place so you can be with me….” Not for the afterlife, but I am preparing a place for you so that you can get to the place I want you to be. I am preparing you for greatness. I am preparing you for victory. I am preparing you for my kingdom building. I am preparing you to be prosperous. I am preparing you to walk into your anointing. I am preparing you to meet the Ghost named Holy. Cuz after He comes, you will have the one thing that Satan desires you never have, UNDERSTANDING! Because if you understand your directions, if you understand your calling, if you understand your instructions, if you understand your gifts, if you understand the word, if you understand prayer changes, if you understand it is not your fight because it is a fixed fight, if you understand that his power has been cancelled out because he got kicked the…… out….. that you will become just what the Ghost name Holy says he gives… you will become powerful~ Look at God – the very thing Satan uses to scare folk … Ghost – God interjects it with who He is ‘ Holy” and fear is removed and replaced with power! And instead of evoking fear – it provides power!

So it really makes sense that Satan’s sole goal is to implant fear in the temples Jesus said he is going to prepare. Because He knows that fear and faith cannot dwell in the same house. One cancels out the other. But vs 16-18 stresses the importance of the preparation of the Holy Ghost… You find out that the Ghost named Holy has to be introduced so that we will not remain ignorant – but instead we will receive knowledge and wisdom. When we understand – we can complete the plan God has laid out before us.

Satan wants us to remain confused. Because confused, we are not a threat. Confused we are our own worst enemy and he don’t have to do jack to mess us up, because we mess our own selves up. But Rom. 8:1-2 tells us there is a new freedom obtained from the Ghost named Holy.

Acts 1:8 scares that fool Satan the most. He understands with power we can defeat his imps, gimps, and hellacious pimps. Satan knows a prepared saint is a dangerous enemy to his army and will destroy his plots and plans of destruction. Rom. 6:6 states that a Holy Ghost empowered saint has nullified the effect that sin once had – 1 Cor. 14:1 teaches us to cultivate the spiritual gifts we are given by the Ghost named Holy so that we may become powerful witnesses for Gods Contracting Company, Kingdom Building Inc.

According to 2 Cor. 3:6, Jesus has pre-qualified us to devil destroyers. By nullifying the finality of death by witnessing and teaching to the utmost, Jesus saves. We have been formally introduced to the Ghost named Holy…. And if you haven’t Jesus said he went to prepare you…. All you got to do is accept Him, and he will send the Ghost…. So that where there was fear and bondage, there is now victory and freedom!

Prepared – prepared by the Ghost named Holy to do all things…

Prepared – prepared by the Ghost named Holy to be encouraged

Prepared – prepared by the Ghost name Holy to believe what has not yet been seen yet – or heard yet – or felt yet – simply because God sat it will come to pass!

Prepared – prepared by the Ghost named Holy to see what could be seen as a jacked up situation as merely a stepping stone to get to the next level.

Prepared – prepared by the Ghost named Holy to let this mind be in you that is in Christ Jesus – Our old mindset – our old fears gone – and we can shout like the rapper – Yall gonna make me lose my mind…up in here ………up in here….

Prepared – prepared by the ghost named Holy to understand He is preparing me for something… it seems bleak right now…. but God is preparing me for something…. Times may be a little rough. But God is preparing me for something… I didn’t plan this…but God is preparing me for something…. that’s why He introduced me to that Ghost Named Holy. And when Satan tries to tell me, I’m stuck in a rut…. I will simply tell that fool, I am having a Holy Ghost Party…. and ain’t no party…like a Holy Ghost party… In fact – the final action of Jesus on the cross was the releasing of the Holy Ghost – he let it go so that it would secure us… He blew it out like a cooling wind… telling us …let the Holy Ghost in – and it will be your guide… Let me in and let me dwell in you…. Prepare me Lord – fill me Lord – use Me Lord --- Prepare me Lord – Fill Me Lord – Use Me Lord!
