Summary: As Christians we all have the same outline and we need to use it. (Bible)

The Same Outline

Luke 1:1-4

1 Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,

2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

In verse one it says, “Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us.”

This means many, at this time, were attempting to write accounts of the life and Ministry of Christ which have proved to have no inspiration of the Holy Spirit and consequently they were unreliable.

When it says of those things which are most surely believed among us, it proclaims the Gospel as a narrative concerning facts fully established.

Luke 1:2

2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

This concerns those who were there and actually observed what took place.

These people were eye witnesses and were ministers of the Word that had been given to them.

Luke 1:3

3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

This is talking about the moving of the Holy Spirit as He gives understanding to the people of God.

Luke was talking about how there needed to be an understanding of all things from the first.

What this is also saying is that Luke had made absolute certain of the reliability of these eye witness accounts that he was writing for us in the day that we live in.

In verse 3 it also says to write unto you in order.

In God’s timeline, there is an order for all things.

In the beginning God created, in other words, every thing that happens in life originates from the very beginning.

Within God, there is a necessity of a chronological order.

There is a time and purpose for everything in your lives.

There was a time for Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

There was a time for Cain and Able.

There was a time for Seth, Adam and Eve’s third son.

There was a time for Methuselah, the oldest man to ever live.

There was a time for Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

There was a time for Joseph, the dreamer.

There was a time for Melchezadak.

There was a time for Noah.

The point that I am trying to drive home is that there is a timeline that was appointed to all man.

Today is the time for you.

Luke 1:4

4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

Church, our instruction comes from the Word of God.

We can know for certain that this Word of God has been tested and it has been tried, but it has stood the test of time.

God did not give the Word to do nothing with, but He has given the Word for us to apply to the situations that we are going through.

Deuteronomy 4:9-10

9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;

10 Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

Israel was not to forget what their eyes had seen, they were to teach it to their children and their children’s children.

We need to teach our children to fear the Lord and to keep His commandments.

According to Luke, verse one, there was a declaration that was set in order.

Luke wants his readers to understand that God is very much alive and that Jesus really is able to operate in the situations that we go through.

The Word lets us know that when He operates within the situations that we go through to make sure that we tell our children and grandchildren what the Lord has done in our lives.

In my life, there is a timetable that I have to go through; I have to learn how to become obedient to God’s Word.

The instructions to all of my needs are right here before me. (The Bible)

Take this Word that has been tried and proven, open up your life, and apply it to the things that you face in life.

When you think that God can’t deliver you, think about Daniel as he was in the Lions den, how he knew that his God would deliver him.

That’s what we need, as a church world, to know that when the enemy is trying us that God will, I did not say that God might, I SAID THAT GOD WILL DELIVER US FROM OUR SITUATIONS.

I have entitled this today: The Same Outline.

The reason why I preached this message today:

Dream 2-24-08

I dreamed that I was teaching on different people in the Bible. There was another person who I knew was doing the same. We compared notes and we noticed that we were not in the same order. We pulled out our Bibles and I noticed that we have the same outline.

Interpretation

There is a Divine order when it comes to God.

We were both teaching on different people in the Bible supposedly in order.

We compared notes and we noticed that we were not in the same order.

We pulled out the Bible and noticed that we had the same outline.

Maybe this is saying that this person’s life is not lining up with the Word of God.

Maybe this person has a form of Godliness, but they deny the power that is within the Word.

A lot of people talk talks but their walks do not line up with Gods Word.

If I’m doing a teaching a certain way and leave part of the Word out, then I am going to answer to God.

If I chose to leave out the 3 Hebrew children, how would I know that Jesus walks through the fire with me and when the situation looks impossible He sets me free?

If I left out Hezekiah, how would I know that if I’m on my deathbed that God can extend my life?

If I chose not to talk about the Blood of Jesus, how through His Blood my sins are washed away.

If I chose not to talk about the ministry of Christ, how would I know that He overcame death, Hell and the grave?

2 Timothy 3:15-16

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

A lot of us, from the time of our childhood have known the Holy Scriptures, which can make us wise and lead us to Salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.

All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, It really is the only Doctrine, and it’s for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

As a Christian, I can not choose to leave part out, maybe in the dream the person was not living what was in the Word, so they left part out.

Luke 1:3

3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

What we need in the church is a perfect understanding of all the things from the very first, to write unto you in order.

There needs to bean understanding and the things of God kept in order in our lives.

When we think about keeping things in order, we need to make sure that God is # 1 in our lives.

We need to understand that God’s Word is active and alive in our situations that we go through.

We, as a Church, need to have an understanding that all of the Word of God was given to us to use in our lives.

Are we putting our lives in order by using God’s Word?

When we put things in order in our lives, we can have an understanding of how God will work in our lives.

29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

Are we in the latter days?

When all of the really bad things start to take place, even in the day that we are in, if we turn to God with all of our hearts and soul we will find Him.

There was a catch to that phrase, “If you seek Him with all of yourself”.

If we are obedient to God’s speaking voice, (Jesus) then God will deliver us, even in the latter times that we live in.

Are we keeping things in order in our lives this morning?

Zechariah 10:1

1 Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. {bright...: or, lightnings}

When we are living in order in our life, we will be obedient to God’s Word.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

CLOSING:

How many know that from the very beginning of time, God knew who you were and He has a plan for your life?

This is your chosen generation that God has ordained especially for you to walk in.

This is your time to shine in the work that God has set up for you.

This is your generation, your generation to see signs and wonders in your life.

This is your divine order, or I should say your divine appointment.

Don’t leave out part of the Word of God, it was all inspired by God.

Please stand where you are at.

Do you have the same outline that I have this morning?

Hold up your Bibles.

Now, are you living how the inside says to live?

In order to follow God’s Word, you need to live what it says to do.

Don’t take part of it out, don’t skip what you don’t want to accept.

Just live it!
