Summary: Are you claiming what God has given you? God has given you victory in the situations that you are going through. God has given us all Promises in Him; don’t let Satan steal what the Lord has given to you.

Claiming What God Has Given You

Duetronomy 1:1-8

1 These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

2 (There are eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadeshbarnea.)

3 And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the LORD had given him in commandment unto them;

4 After he had slain Sihon the king of the Amorites, which dwelt in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, which dwelt at Astaroth in Edrei:

5 On this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying,

6 The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:

7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.

8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.

Deuteronomy 1:1-8 is a message that Moses gave to Israel shortly before the great law giver died and shortly before Israel went into the Promised Land.

Deuteronomy 1:3

3 And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the LORD had given him in commandment unto them;

This was going to be Moses’ last Word to Israel; the time of these words would be approximately a month previous to his death.

The theme of this message is that possession of Canaan was dependent upon the keeping of the law given at Sinai.

Sinai was one of the peaks of a mountain mass named Horab.

According to Deuteronomy 29:29 the secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

When God reveals something to us, then it is time to claim it because if we are obedient to Jesus and what He says to do then it is ours.

Some might say that is Old Testament but Jesus said in John 3:36 "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

Jesus didn’t come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it.

Deuteronomy 1:4

4 After he had slain Sihon the king of the Amorites, which dwelt in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, which dwelt at Astaroth in Edrei:

By the destruction of these Kings, who sought to bar the access of the Israelites to the Promised Land, God had given proof that He would indeed fulfill His promise to His people.

Deuteronomy 1:5

5 On this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying,

As long as the people did what God wanted them to do, God would take care of them no matter where their wonderings would take them.

If they would be unfaithful, there would be nothing but misery.

A lesson in this Book is the impossibility of the natural man taking hold upon and keeping Divine privileges.

Deuteronomy 1:6

De 1:6 The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:

The phrase, “Lord our God,” implies the Covenant union of Israel with Jehovah, and presupposes the existence of that Covenant, which was entered into at Sinai.

Deuteronomy 1:7-8

7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.

8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.

This description encompasses the whole of the Promised Land.

It included all of modern Jordon, Syria and even Iraq, at least as far as the Euphrates River.

It is a lot larger than what is presently claimed by Israel presently.

God had set this land before them and they were to go and possess the land which had been sworn by their Fathers.

God always keeps His Promises.

I have entitled this today: Claiming What God Has Given You

Dream 4-28-09

I dreamed that a gang of land squatters was claiming a piece of land that was not theirs. Terry was claiming that it was his. The gang was then threatening Terry. They had him trapped in the top of a tree. I ran to get help. I cried out to a woman who was nearby to call the Police. I went back to the scene and I noticed Terry walking in the field unhurt. The gang had given him a threat to get out. What I noticed was the land was neither one of theirs.

Interpretation

We, as Christians, are given Divine Promises.

2Co 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

2Co 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

A gang of land squatters was claiming a piece of land that was not theirs. Terry was claiming that it was his.

Satan will try to steal what God has given us.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The gang was then threatening Terry. They had him trapped in the top of a tree.

Satan can bluff and He can blow off all that He wants to.

Deuteronomy 29:29 the secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Obedience brings the blessing of God!

I ran to get help. I cried out to a woman who was nearby to call the Police.

Where should we run when we need help? Jesus!

Police represents Christ!

I went back to the scene and I noticed Terry walking in the field unhurt.

Satan and His gang of demons cannot penetrate through the Blood of Jesus.

The gang had given him a threat to get out.

Satan can holler all He wants but it won’t do any good.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Jesus came that we can have life and we can have it more abundantly.

What I noticed was the land was neither one of theirs.

Why was it not either ones? Because it is God’s and He has given it to us while we are here.

Satan wants to destroy Israel because He realizes they are God’s chosen people.

He realizes that is where true blessing comes from.

Satan is trying to steal what God has given to Israel and what God has given us.

A lot of times we open up the door for Satan to work in our lives by disobedience to what Jesus says to do.

Ro 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Ro 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Ro 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Are you claiming what God has given you?

God has given you victory in the situations that you are going through.

God has given us all Promises in Him; don’t let Satan steal what the Lord has given to you.

I was not going to use this dream today, but I changed my mind, it just keeps sticking with me.

Dream 4-15-09

I dreamed that I was observing a woman. The woman was going through a tough time. I noticed a life size Bible that was in front of her. The Spirit of God opened the life size Bible. I knew that the Lord was about ready to give her a Word. The woman walked over to the life size Bible and started to read the Word that God was giving to her. As she read the Word she was standing on the Bible, she, you could say, was standing on the Word. I then noticed that she literally sunk into the Word. I walked over and I looked inside the life size Bible and I knew that this lady was going to be alright because she was in the Word.

2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Ro 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

According to Hebrews 4:12, “for the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”.

As A Christian, according to Heb 6:5: And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

“Claiming What God Has Given You”

Church, let’s stand and claim what God has given unto us!

2Co 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
