4—Unsound Christian doctrine is confronted...

At Its DESIRE(:6-7)

Explanation: (:6-7)

:6—“from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk,

Timothy needs to recognize the critical potential of these false teachers of God’s truth. Therefore Paul reiterates that “some”—in their midst—have “strayed” from the overall purpose of God’s doctrine. These have “turned” to embrace “idle talk” preferring it over the truth(:5). It is easier for some to wax eloquently regarding the philosophies of humanity than it is for them to relate God’s truth. This is because it does not require sincere faith or love for God at all.

Again Paul mentions the “some” of their own number, as in :3, who would teach doctrine(s) foreign to God’s truth in Christ.

Ex.—My Dad’s disappointment with American Dental Assoc. meetings—They increasingly placed how to make more money above better dental care.

“Strayed/Swerved/Wandered”—astocew—To deviate from, miss the mark. Strong—To miss the mark, i.e. (figuratively) Deviate from truth. Used 3X.

“Turned aside”—ektrepw—1) To turn or twist out—1a) in a medical sense used Of dislocated limbs; 2) To turn off or aside; 3) To be turned aside; 4) To turn aside; 5) To turn away from, to shun a thing, to avoid meeting or associating with one. Strong—To deflect, i.e. Turn away (literally or figuratively). Used 5X.

“Idle talk/Vain jangling/Fruitless discussion/Meaningless talk”—mataiologia—N. f.—1) Vain talking, empty talk. Strong—Random talk, i.e. Babble. Used 1X.

From—mataiov—1) devoid of force, truth, success, result; 2) useless, of no purpose, empty—& —legw—To say, speak.

:7—“desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.”

These false teachers confidently affirm their own aberrant teachings which are derisive of Christianity, all the while claiming the truth/rightness of such teaching.

Their determination is to achieve recognition as those expert in Mosaic Law & its application but more than that they avail themselves of the pre-Talmudic(rabbinic discussions pertaining to Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, customs & history[200AD]-Wik.) oral law. These teacher ‘wannabes’ may be(or not) versed in or knowledgeable of the “law,” however they are fully ignorant of God’s truth from which the reasonings of men originally proceeded.

Not understanding what they themselves are saying, refers to the fact that such wannabes do not make the connections in their arguments which are necessary for a realistic & proper world view. Such connections are what separates a true teacher from a false one. If their affirmations are followed out to their logical conclusions, then their erroneous nature would be apparent. This is part of the effort of any man of God such as Timothy—to make determinations by God’s revealed word & will. The spirits of prophets must be subject to prophets...

1Cor. 14:32-33—“And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.”

Unfortunately we all know people who like to talk about things they really know nothing about. They want to be viewed authoritatively. To receive recognition & affirmation by others. This is bad enough when the subject is not spiritually charged—These become bad mechanics & pill pushing medical doctors & the like. But it is sad, pitiful & damning when such arrogance enters into the realm of vital spiritual matters. If their false doctrine is set free allowed by the Church, it leads others astray & into hell rather than into heaven.

Merely because someone presents ideas to others with charismatic confidence does not make those ideas true. They are still fleshly derived ideas rather than truth.

Hollywood & popular media is an excellent example of this truth. The basic premise of movies is one, the personal statements of actors/actresses is another. The existence of media(TV, Radio) dedicated to a particular slant. Intelligentsia in their own minds.

I’ve been told that genius is that miniscule moment between the dawning of a brilliant epiphanic truth & the realization that your great idea is really stupid!

Mat. 18:18—““Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, & whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Mat. 23:13-15—““But woe to you, scribes & Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Woe to you, scribes & Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, & for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. Woe to you, scribes & Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land & sea to win one proselyte, & when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.”

“Desiring/Wanting”—yelw—1) To will, have in mind, intend. Strong—To determine (as an active option from subjective impulse), i.e. Choose or prefer (literally or figuratively); by implication, To wish, i.e. Be inclined to (sometimes adverbially, gladly); impersonally for the future tense, To be about to; by Hebraism, To delight in.

“Teachers of the law”—nomodidaskalov—1) A teacher & interpreter of the law: among the Jews—1a) Of those who among Christians went about as champions & interpreters of the Mosaic law. Strong—An expounder of the (Jewish) law, i.e. A Rabbi. Used 3X.

“Understanding/Know”—noiew—1) To perceive with the mind, to understand, to have understanding; 2) to think upon, heed, ponder, consider. Strong—To exercise the mind (observe), i.e. (figuratively) To comprehend, heed.

“Affirm/Confident Assertions/Confidently affirm”—diabebaioomai—1) To affirm strongly, assert confidently. Strong—To confirm thoroughly (by words), i.e. Asseverate Used 2X.

From—bebaiow—to make firm, establish, confirm, make sure.

Argumentation:

Prov. 8:11—“For wisdom is better than rubies, And all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.”

Prov. 11:6—“The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, But the unfaithful will be caught by their lust.”

Prov. 19:22—“What is desired in a man is kindness, And a poor man is better than a liar.”

Prov. 21:25-26—“The desire of the lazy man kills him, For his hands refuse to labor. He covets greedily all day long, But the righteous gives and does not spare.”

At Its PARTNERSHIP/League(:8-10)

Explanation: (:8-10) Questionable relationships

:8—“But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully,”

Paul affirmes that the law itself is indeed “good” if it is handled in the right manner. The reasonings & discussions of men can lead to a greater grasp of God’s truth or they can be set forth as Scripture itself. They can lead us to encounter ways of approaching God’s word/truth which get us out of the box of our personal baggage.

Even Christian-based commentaries can be useful but they are never to be elevated to Scripture status. Likewise my sermons must be sieved thru the Word of God to see what really holds true.

“Law”—nomov—1) Anything established, anything received by usage, a custom, a law, a command. The common word meaning law. It may mean law in general. In the N.T., however, it usually means the law of God, & most frequently the Mosaic law.

“Good”—kalov—1) Beautiful, handsome, excellent, eminent, choice, surpassing, precious, useful, suitable, commendable, admirable. A much higher word[than asteiov or wraiov]. It means beautiful, physically or morally. It is, however, distinctly the beauty which comes from harmony, the beauty which arises from a symmetrical adjustment in right proportion, in other words, from the harmonious completeness of the object concerned.

“Uses”—craomai—1) To receive a loan; 2) Borrow; 3) To take for one's use, to use—3a) To make use of a thing. Strong—To furnish what is needed; (give an oracle, "graze" [touch slightly], light upon, etc.), i.e. (by implication) To employ or (by extension) To act towards one in a given manner.

“Lawfully”—nomimwv—1) Lawfully, agreeable to the law, properly. Strong—Legitimately (specifically agreeably to the rules of the lists).

:9—“knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless & insubordinate, for the ungodly & for sinners, for the unholy & profane, for murderers of fathers & murderers of mothers, for manslayers,”

Gal. 3:22-25—“But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.”

The law will be used correctly—according to God’s will— if one recognizes these opposing facts:

1)It is “not made for” those who are “righteous” in God’s eyes by His declaration thru faith.

However it is indeed made for the un-righteous as described in verses :9-10 as follows...

2)a)It is “made for” those who are both “lawless” & will not subject(“insubordinate”) themselves to God’s true desire. Thereby the law ‘keeps them in line’ as it were, however only civilly.

2)b)It is also “made for” those who are both ‘Destitute of reverential awe towards God,’(“ungodly”) as well as those who are practicing “sinners”—& thus neither repentant of their actions/thoughts against God, nor seeing a need for repentance.

2)c)It is also “made for” those who are “murderers” of either parent, regardless of gender. Anyone who would wantonly take another’s life is entirely self-absorbed to the exclusion of all that is right by God & man. Such arrogance is doubly damned as it is unappreciative of either parental authority &/or sacrifice on their behalf.

2)d) It is also “made for” those who are wanton murderers in general. It describes a mindset which is disregardful & unconcerned with the value of human life granted by its Maker.

“Made”—keimai—1) to lie; 2) metaph.—2a) To be (by God's intent) Set, i.e. Destined, appointed, 2b) Of laws, to be made, laid down, 2c) lies in the power of the evil one, i.e. is Held in subjection by the devil. Strong—To lie outstretched (literally or figuratively).

“Righteous”—dikaiov—1) Righteous, observing divine laws. Strong—Equitable (in character or act); by implication, Innocent, holy (absolutely or relatively). (CONT...)5—Unsound Christian doctrine is confronted...

At Its PARTNERSHIP/League(:8-10)

“Lawless/Lawbreakers”—anomov—1) Destitute of (the Mosaic) law—1a) Of the Gentiles; 2) Departing from the law, a violator of the law, lawless, wicked. Strong—Lawless, i.e. (negatively) Not subject to (the Jewish) law; (by implication, a Gentile), or (positively) Wicked.

“Insubordinate/Disobedient/Rebellious/Rebels”—anupotaktov—1)Not made subject, unsubjected; 2)That cannot be subjected to control, disobedient, unruly, refractory. Strong—Unsubdued, i.e. Insubordinate (in fact or temper).

“Ungodly”—asebhv—Destitute of reverential awe towards God, condemning God, impious.

“Sinners/Sinful”—amartwlov—Devoted to sin, a sinner.

“Unholy”—anosiov—1) Unholy, impious, wicked. Used 2X.

From the negation of—osiov—1) undefiled by sin, free from wickedness, religiously observing every moral obligation, pure holy, pious. Strong— i.e. hallowed (pious, sacred, sure).

“Profane/Irreligious”—bebhlov—Accessible, lawful to be trodden; Profane—2a) Unhallowed, common, public place. Strong—from the base of basiv[the foot] and bhlov(a threshold); Accessible (as by crossing the door-way), i.e. (by implication of Jewish notions) Heathenish, wicked. Used 5X.

“Murderers of fathers/Kill their fathers”—patralwav—1)A patricide. Used 1X.

From—alwn—A threshing-floor (as rolled hard), i.e. (figuratively) the grain (and chaff, as just threshed).

“Murderers of mothers/Kill their mothers”—mhtrolwav—1) Matricide, the murderer of a mother. Strong—A mother-thresher, i.e. matricide. Used 1X.

From—alwn—A threshing-floor (as rolled hard), i.e. (figuratively) the grain (and chaff, as just threshed).

“Manslayers/Murderers”—androfonov—A murderer. Used 1X.

From—fonov—from an obsolete primary fenw (to slay); Murder. Used 1X. :10—“for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, & if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,”

Continuing his description of the unrighteousness which the “law” was intended to contain, Paul continues to paint a picture of those in need of the law correctly administered in Christ.

The “law” it is indeed made for the un-righteous in that...

2)e) It is “made for” those who are gigolos or paid male whores/prostitutes. These men have no regard others or for themselves other than satisfying their own sensuality. Such behavior is even more crude due to the fact that this is a man who is made in God’s image, made directly for headship, being answerable to God for the behavior of others subject to him(Family/Children/Employees).

2)f) It is “made for” those who are homosexuals(enter into sexual activity with another of the same sex. A blatant disregard for & abuse of the use of the body made male & female(Gen. 1:27). For such people the law exists to have them, at least behaviorally, comply with God’s scheme of life for mankind.

Homosexuality in Scripture:

Gen 1:27—“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male & female He created them.”

Gen. 19:2-11—“And he said, “Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servant’s house, & spend the night, & wash your feet; then you may rise early & go on your way.” They said however, “No, but we shall spend the night in the square.” Yet he urged them strongly, so they turned aside to him & entered his house; & he prepared a feast for them, & baked unleavened bread, & they ate. Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young & old, all the people from every quarter; & they called to Lot & said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.” But Lot went out to them at the doorway, & shut the door behind him, & said, “Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly. “Now behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man; please let me bring them out to you, & do to them whatever you like; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof.” But they said, “Stand aside.” Furthermore, they said, “This one came in as an alien, & already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them.” So they pressed hard against Lot & came near to break the door. But the men reached out their hands & brought Lot into the house with them, & shut the door. And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small & great, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the doorway.”

Jude 1:5-7—“Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day. Just as Sodom & Gomorrah & the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality & went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example, in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.”

Lev. 18:22-25—“‘You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. ‘Also you shall not have intercourse with any animal to be defiled with it, nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion. ‘Do not defile yourselves by any of these things; for by all these the nations which I am casting out before you have become defiled. ‘For the land has become defiled, therefore I have visited its punishment upon it, so the land has spewed out its inhabitants.”

Lev. 20:13—“‘If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.”

Rom 1:15--2:2—“Thus, for my part, I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first & also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness & unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power & divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, & their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, & exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man & of birds & four-footed animals & crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, & worshiped & served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, & in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman & burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts & receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; &, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.” “Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures,”

1Cor. 6:7-11—“Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? On the contrary, you yourselves wrong & defraud, & that your brethren. Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, & in the Spirit of our God.”

The “law” it is indeed made for the un-righteous in that...

2)g) It is “made for” those who are enslavers of men. Those who would unjustly force an unwilling person to slavery or humbility at the owner’s feet.

2)h) It is “made for” those who are characterized as “liars.” Those who cannot bring themselves to rightly handle truth. They make rash unwise decisions & to protect themselves from rebuke, quickly seek to justify their actions with lies intended to place blame elsewhere besides themselves. These are very hurtful people who view others as expendable.

2)i) It is “made for” those who are liars under oath, in a judicial situation such as a courtroom, where the course of people’s lives are decided with authority.

Ex. 20:16—““You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”

Dt. 19:18-19—““And the judges shall make careful inquiry, & indeed, if the witness is a false witness, who has testified falsely against his brother, “then you shall do to him as he thought to have done to his brother; so you shall put away the evil from among you.”

Zec. 5:3-4—“Then he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth: ‘Every thief shall be expelled,’ according to this side of the scroll; &, ‘Every perjurer shall be expelled,’ according to that side of it.” “I will send out the curse,” says the LORD of hosts; “It shall enter the house of the thief And the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. It shall remain in the midst of his house And consume it, with its timber & stones.””

In fact, The law is “made for” anyone who would take it upon themselves to live opposed to that which is decidedly God’s truth. These ‘poser’ teachers oppose that which has been revealed to man in the past as well as that which is fulfilled in the present by Christ.

“Fornicators/Whoremonger/Immoral men/Adulterers”—pornov—N. m.—1)A man who prostitutes his body to another's lust for hire; 2)A male prostitute; 3)A man who indulges in unlawful sexual intercourse, a fornicator. Strong—from pernhmi(to sell; akin to the base of pipraskw—to traffic (by travelling), i.e. dispose of as merchandise or into slavery (literally or figuratively)); A (male) prostitute (as venal), i.e. (by analogy) A debauchee (libertine). Used 10X.

“Sodomites/Defile themselves with mankind/Homosexuals/Perverts”—arsenokoithv—One who lies with a male as with a female, sodomite, homosexual. Used 2X.

“Kidnappers/Menstealers/Slave traders”—andrapodisthv—A slave-dealer, kidnapper, man-stealer—1a) Of one who unjustly reduces free men to slavery, 1b) Of one who steals the slaves of others & sells them. Strong—An enslaver (as bringing men to his feet). Used 1X.

From—pouv—a foot upon —anhr—man...Show of power over another.

“Liars”—yeusthv—1)A liar; 2)One who breaks faith; 3)A false & faithless man. Strong—A falsifier. Used 10X.

From—qeudomai—to utter an untruth or attempt to deceive by falsehood.

“Perjurers”—epiorkov—A false swearer, a perjurer. Strong—On oath, i.e. (falsely) A foreswearer. Used 1X.

“Contrary”—antikeimai—1) To be set over against, opposite to; 2) To oppose, be adverse to, withstand. Strong—To lie opposite, i.e. Be adverse (figuratively, repugnant) to. Used 8X.

“Sound”—ugiainw—Strong—To have sound health, i.e. Be well (in body); figuratively, to be uncorrupt (true in doctrine). Used 12X.

“Doctrine”—didaskalia—1) Teaching, instruction; 2) Teaching—2a) That which is taught, doctrine, 2b) Teachings, precepts.

Argumentation:

Lawlessness

Mat. 7:21-23—““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, & done many wonders in Your name?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

Jn. 10:27—““My sheep hear My voice, & I know them, & they follow Me.”

2Tim. 2:16-19—“But shun profane & idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus & Philetus are of this sort, who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; & they overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” &, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.””

Rev. 22:14-15—“Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, & may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs & sorcerers & sexually immoral & murderers & idolaters, & whoever loves & practices a lie.”

Prov. 20:19-20—“He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips. Whoever curses his father or his mother, His lamp will be put out in deep darkness.”

Prov. 22:24-25—“Make no friendship with an angry man, And with a furious man do not go, Lest you learn his ways And set a snare for your soul.”

What makes a man angry if not his disdain for authority!

Prov. 13:20—“He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.”

Gal. 6:7-8—“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

1Cor. 15:33—“Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.””

At Its BAIN(:10-11)

Explanation: (:10-11)Opposes the Gospel

:10—“for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, & if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,”

:11—“according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.”

That which is considered & accepted by the Church as “sound doctrine” is that which is in full accord with the “glorious” good news granted by our God Who is worthy of our blessing.

This good news is the very Gospel which has been entrusted to Paul by God in His calling him to minister this gospel(:12).

“Glorious”—doxa—1) Opinion, judgment, view; 2) Opinion, estimate, whether good or bad concerning someone—2a) in the NT Always a good opinion concerning one, resulting in praise, honor, & glory; 3) Splendor, brightness; 4) A most glorious condition, most exalted state. Strong—Glory (as very apparent), in a wide application (literal or figurative, objective or subjective).

“Gospel”—euaggelion—Strong—A good message, i.e. The gospel.

From—eu—to be well, prosper &—aggelov—1) a messenger, envoy, one who is sent, an angel, a messenger from God.

“Blessed”—makariov—1)Blessed, happy. Strong—Supremely blest; by extension, Fortunate, well off.

“Committed...Trust/I have been entrusted”— pisteuw—1)To think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in; 2)To entrust a thing to one. Strong—To have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. Credit; by implication, To entrust (especially one's spiritual well-being to Christ).

Argumentation:

Jn. 5:37-40—""And the Father Himself, who sent Me[Jesus], has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; & these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life."

Mt 13:24-30, 36-43—“Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came & sowed tares among the wheat & went his way. But when the grain had sprouted & produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came & said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go & gather them up?’ “But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. ‘Let both grow together until the harvest, & at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares & bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’””.....“Then Jesus sent the multitude away & went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.” He answered & said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. “The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, & the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered & burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, & they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, & those who practice lawlessness, “& will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing & gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Gal. 2:11-16—“Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew & separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles & not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews? “We who are Jews by nature, & not sinners of the Gentiles, “knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ & not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.”

Many cults & sects have arisen from True Christianity(their Bain!)/All claim to be the true Good News/All do have some element of truth in them( as they are built upon Christianity) but they likewise also contain an element of untruth which thereby assigns such belief & teaching to the work of the devil!

Some known groups are:

1)Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints(Mormons)—They are neither the Church, nor of the biblical & historical Christ Jesus, nor the true Saints of any age!

2)The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society(Jehovah’s Witnesses)—Not true witnesses of YaHWeH(Jehovah)!

3) The Church of Scientology—Tom Cruise is perhaps its most notable member.

4)Messianic Communities(The Twelve Tribes)—A communal group established in 1972.

5)The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity (Unification Church or Moonies)—Sun Myung Moon

6)The International Churches of Christ (Boston Movement)— began in 1978 & embraces most of the main tenets of the historic Church but teaches that it is the only true church.

7)The Family (Children of God)—A communal group established in the late 1960’s & a mixture of basic Christian tenets & almost total sexual license. Very controlling and manipulative.

We can only combat these effectively with the “glorious Gospel” of God’s revelation thru His Christ, apostles & Church. Anything less is no Good News at all.
