Living in Heaven on Earth

God wants us to enjoy a much higher life on earth than we can imagine. You do not have to die and go to heaven in order to enjoy heaven. All the benefits and blessings of heaven are available to each and every one of us here on earth. We need to have a revelation of this and catch it in our spirits.

1 John 4:17 - “As He is so are we in this world.”

Luke 11:2 - So He said to them, "When you pray, say: our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

God has not called us or small or insignificant things, but for the supernatural things on earth. When we talk about heaven on earth we talk about the things in heaven that can manifest in our lives and on the earth. These things are a reality. We can live in a supernatural environment of heaven.

God’s Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom. It is the only kingdom that will never pass away. The influence of Satan’s kingdom is everywhere and very visible and obvious. However, his kingdom is temporary and the Word teaches us that the devil will be evicted from heaven and earth and his influence will cease in the very near future.

Invest in God’s Kingdom because the world as it is today will soon be gone because it is temporary. However, God’s Kingdom will stand forever. That is a good place to invest. Serve Him with your whole heart, mind, and soul and you will never regret it.

The devil is a created being and the reason why he hates people is because we look like God and he does not. He rebelled against God and wanted to be like God but we are more like God than what the devil is.

We are living in a season where God is taking back His Kingdom and He is raising up His children to rule with Him. When a baby is born, the conflict over this person’s live will begin between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan begins and this battle will only cease when that person is in the grave. God has called us to live without conflict and wars in our lives and if we can grasp this revelation, we will be positioned to rule on the earth in our lifetime and during our life on earth.

Perhaps there is conflict in our community or city, but we do not have to participate in it. We live under a different set of rules to ordinary people in the world and they are generally living in hell on earth either knowingly or unknowingly.

We are representatives of heaven on earth and heaven must manifest in our lives so that we can how others another way. Through our lives and the authority we have, we can show the world who our King is.

Too many Christian are fighting the devil but there are things we can do to circumvent and cut off his influence and power that is targeted against us. We can choose to evict him totally from our lives and make sure he does not frustrate us and implement demonic assignments against us.

Being under the rule of heaven means we exercise the authority of heaven and access heaven’s benefits and rewards each and every day. Our authority makes our lives on earth heaven. That means it does not matter whether we live in heaven or earth because the benefits and the environment are the same.

"Heaven is a place on earth" is the title of a song recorded by Belinda Carlisle, the lead singer of the go-go's. Written by rick Nowels and Ellen Shipley, it hit number one on the billboard hot 100 on December 5, 1987.

Oh, baby do you know what that's worth?

Oh, heaven is a place on earth

They say in heaven, love comes first

We'll make heaven a place on earth

Oh, heaven is a place on earth

You may wonder why the words of a worldly rock song are being used as an example to the church. If we do not use these words, then the devil is going use them and deceive people into thinking that enjoying his kingdom benefits is like living in heaven. We are the ones who should be writing these songs.

Living in heaven on earth is not an inconceivable concept. The entire Bible is not just theory, but a practical living way. Many Christians know about authority, blessings, covenant, etc., but if these things are not pursued, it will remain a theory only and will never manifest practically. All the blessings of heaven promised in the Word are possibilities only. We have to make it a living reality.

The Kingdom of God should be a living testimony in our lives because the Bible tells us that we must be doers of the Word. For example, if the Bible promises that we can be blessed financially, then our lives must show it. Living in heaven on earth is up to us. We have to make sure it happens by faith.

Some people may say that they are in their present situation because of their education, their upbringing, bad luck, or any other excuse. These things have absolutely no power over our blessings. It is what we do with the Word that will take us to a place of victory.

Christian have the best opportunity to access the best that heaven can offer. Our cupboards can be filled with food but yet we can die of hunger right at the door. We have to open the doors to those cupboards and we have to take what it has to offer in order to live and not die.

God has filled up the cupboards of heaven with every good and perfect gift. But He expects us to open the doors and take what He has provided for us. We should be living in heaven on earth in the present.

Let us have a look at a few examples of men and women who lived in heaven on earth.

Abraham

Through his covenant relationship, Abraham understood that he could live like a king with more blessings and authority than the kings who reigned in his time. These kings submitted to him. He did not tell them he was a king or that he was greater than them, but it was just the way he conducted himself that they saw he was greater than them. When they needed help, they looked to Abraham, because they knew his capabilities through God.

Spiritual blessings manifest in the natural like having money in the bank and enjoying supernatural health. We are not always able to feel them, but we should be able to see them. God blesses us with physical things.

Abraham knew who he was. When he had conflict with his nephew over land, Abraham did exercise not exercise any authority or control over Lot. He could have told Lot that the land was his because it was given to him by God and he could have given Lot unproductive land or he could have sent him into the desert.

Abraham did not do that. He knew that wherever he went, he would be blessed and that those blessings were not dependant on where he went. That is why he allowed Lot to choose first. Lot took the best land and left Abraham with second best. However, Abraham knew that his blessings did not depend on things on the earth, but things that were available to him in heaven. Even if he went into the desert, he would still be blessed more than anyone else. Abraham knew who he was in God. He knew that supernatural laws would apply and he would live in heaven on earth anyway. He did not worry about the economy, or politics, or his own resources. He was only moved by his relationship with God and it did not matter where he lived on the earth because he would bring heaven down and he would live in heaven on earth.

Genesis 24:1 - Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.

God blessed him in all things. That means he lacked no good thing.

Isaac

Isaac lived in a foreign land and was an economic refugee in Egypt. He submitted to a foreign king with a brutal political system. Yet that did not move him. He knew what he was able to produce as a covenant son.

Genesis 26:12-14 - Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.

Our blessings have nothing to do with the political situation that we are living under, or the climatic conditions, or the economic condition. Our blessings have everything to do with who we are in Christ.

God wants us to sow in the land we are living in right now regardless of the negative conditions that may be prevail. This is an opportunity to show others that our God is bigger and better than any other god. Isaac was not blessed by the king of Egypt, but was blessed by God.

The people who owned that land envied Isaac. The people who should have been blessed were not blessed. It was a foreign refugee who reaped the benefits.

Jacob

There were two covenant sons who inherited spiritual blessings from their father. They were Esau and Jacob. They had the same possibilities. Here we have two sons who were born on the same day. They had the same opportunities but they each made different choices which produced two different outcomes.

It had nothing to do with the fact that their father Jacob inherited the covenant blessings from his father Isaac or that they were the offspring of Abraham. We can come from the lineage of a righteous generation but still live below our potential.

Jacob’s twin brother Esau lived contrary to his covenant potential and that is why he never excelled in his live to the point where God rejected him.

It almost seems as if God moves away from us when we do not pursue our blessings. Just like the person who was given the talent by Jesus who was rejected because he did not produce. God wants us to excel and succeed.

These were two sons with two different outcomes.

Genesis 28:7-15 - And that Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother and had gone to Padan Aram. Also Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan did not please his father Isaac. Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of god were ascending and descending on it. And behold, the lord stood above it and said: "I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you."

Esau associated with the wrong people and brought them into his father’s house. They were people who had an alien culture. They did not have a covenant culture.

When we associate with worldly people they bring in a worldly alien culture and rob us of our blessings and destiny.

There was a time in Jacob’s life when heaven touched earth. He was faithful for many years and never strayed from who he was. He carried the covenant seed inside him and there came a day when heaven manifested on earth in his presence. From that day onwards everything changed. Angels ascended and descended on a ladder and the demonic atmosphere was short-circuited from that day onwards. The devil could not interfere with who he was or corrupt his future.

Nehemiah

Nehemiah was a Jew who was taken into captivity during the Babylonian era yet he lived in a heaven environment.

We are captives on the earth, we are captive to natural events, natural disasters, political upheavals, economics cycles, etc.

Nehemiah was in captivity yet he accessed the benefits of the kingdom in which he lived. Even the ungodly King Artaxerxes paid for his vision. Nehemiah was in captivity to the king yet the king gave him whatever he needed. Joseph was in prison yet the dream to save the nation Israel was inside of him. The dream to rebuild God’s city Jerusalem was on the inside of Nehemiah and he was able to fulfil his purpose even although he was in captivity.

His movements were supposed to be restricted, but yet he travelled. He had no money, but yet he completed a massive building project. He was isolated, but yet he was able to bring a big team together to work on the project. The devil takes people prisoner, but Jesus sets them free!

The call of God on our lives will break the chains and bondages the enemy has placed on us.

Nehemiah 9:36 - Here we are, servants today! And the land that you gave to our fathers, to eat its fruit and its bounty, here we are, servants in it!

There are four things God used to transform the circumstances of God’s people:

1. He re-instated God’s Word

It’s time we once again embrace and obey God’s Word. Nehemiah told the people that when they walked away from the Word, troubles came upon the nation. Do not forget your Bible

2. They had idols

Nehemiah told the people if they wanted to live in victory, freedom, and blessings, they would have to put away their idols. Today there are so many idols that steal our affections and if we want to enjoy heaven on earth, we will have to put away these idols. If we want to enjoy heaven’s blessings on earth, we need to serve one God and one God only – Jesus, the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

3. Associations

Nehemiah told the people to cut themselves from those who were not in covenant with God. Once again, like the story of Esau, we are warned to distance ourselves from those who do not embrace God and the things of God without compromise.

There are some people that should not be in our lives, because they will steal our blessings and keep us from our full potential.

4. Tithes

Nehemiah re-established tithes and offerings. He identified this practice which had been neglected in their worship and which robbed them of their heavenly blessings.

Malachi - 3:10 - Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this," says the Lord of Hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.

Solomon

Solomon’s kingdom on earth dripped with gold and people came from all over the world to see this for themselves. They heard the report, but it was so unbelievable, they had to see it. They could not believe that anyone could live in such luxury and opulence.

Solomon was an ordinary man who trusted and obeyed God. He was God’s man for the hour. Solomon asked for God’s wisdom and God gave him gold.

2 Chronicles 9:3-4 - And when the Queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers and their apparel, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her.

Some of the greatest men and women came to Solomon. The surrounding nations knew the history of Israel with its wars and scandals. They could not believe that this same Israel was now living in peace and prosperity.

Things can change overnight in our lives. The negative perceptions of the past do not equate to a negative hopeless future.

Jesus

Luke 11:2 - So He said to them, "When you pray, say: our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Jesus resisted temptation. The greatest battle between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness has everything to do with the flesh. The battle is won or lost depending how we resist temptation in the flesh.

That is where the battle is fought. If we can defeat the flesh and walk in the Spirit, we will be like Jesus. Jesus had to be filled with the Spirit when He walked on earth and this occurred before His temptation in the desert. Without the power of the Spirit, we cannot overcome the power of the flesh.

Acts 10:38 - How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Because Jesus was filled with the Spirit, He was able to overcome the power of temptation and as a result he did mighty things on the earth and the Bible tells us that the devil left Him. It is time for the devil to leave us alone and it does not come by saying “Satan I rebuke you”. The battle is in the flesh and when we resist temptation, we resist Satan and he has to leave.

If we can conquer the flesh, we will conquer the power of the enemy in our lives.

You and I

“As He is so are we in this world.” – 1 John 4:17

We can be something in this world. We can be like Jesus by resisting temptation and we can live in a heaven environment, because that is where Jesus lives. We are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. We can enter into His presence boldly. That is who we are and that is where we belong.

Hebrews 10:19 - Therefore, brethren, having the boldness to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus

How do we enter into the presence of God? We just take a step and enter into the Holy place. Heaven is always a step away. No card that needs to be swiped or a pin code that must be punched in and no appointments that must be made. Jesus is not like that. All we do is enter in.

1 Peter 2:9 – “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to god, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

We have been called out of poverty, sickness, and failure. There is no gap between heaven and earth depending on the choices we make. There is so much in heaven that needs to be brought to earth. The place of heaven is ours because we are sons and daughters, heirs and co-heirs, ruler and co-rulers, kings and co-kings, workers and a co-workers. We all work in the family business and we work with Jesus. It is only sin that blocks out heaven from our lives.

Ephesians 2:5-6 Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Why must I live in heaven on earth?

1. So that we can enjoy your rightful benefits

Start enjoying your rightful benefits. Stop working for it – it is ours already. We have the right to access all the benefits and blessings of heaven such as such as healing, health, finances, protection, etc.

2. To show others a better way

We are the example and the forerunners of the Kingdom. The best way to preach the Kingdom is for people to see the fruit heaven manifest in us, through us, and around us. It must be evident for all to see. It will not even be necessary to speak.

3. To survive in the last days

The Bible tells us that we are living in perilous times and we can see the spirit of the antichrist everywhere. If money fails or if we have no access to it, God will provide for us even if there is famine and persecution. We trust God for our provision

4. We will preside over the wealth of the unrighteous

The reason why God wants us to live like a king is because He is about to transfer the wealth in the world to His children.

5. So that we can leave an inheritance

God will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children in this season and the sons and daughters will run with the vision of their spiritual fathers. Normally leaders lead from the front, but God is going to turn it around and the fathers will lead from behind and the sons and daughters run with the vision and take on the mantle that was on their fathers.

6. To fulfil God’s plan for the nations

There are nations that have never heard the gospel. God is preparing his children so that they can take this message to the world.

7. To set your position in and for eternity

Whoever you are going to be in eternity depends on what you become on earth. While you are alive, use each and every moment to transform your world into one of blessings, prosperity, authority, health, and healing.

Believe in the supernatural and transform your world by driving out the conditions of hell and by bringing heaven on earth.
