Summary: THERE IS THE NEED FOR CHRISTIANS AND NON-CHRISTIANS TO KNOW THE NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE IMPACT OF SEX ON PEOPLE'S DESTINY. PEOPLE TAKE SEX FOR GRANTED AND ARE PAYING DEARLY FOR THE CONSEQUENCE OF THEIR INDISCRETION.

THE STRENGTH OF SEX AND THE SILENCE CONSPIRACY

The energy of sex is so strong that its intensity is said to be matchless by any emotions ever known to mankind. It is a phenomenon that is greater and more pervasive than alcoholism, drug, food, football and gambling addiction combined. If not so what would make the wife of a Church General Overseer to sleep with the church’s youth and men’s fellowship leaders as well as the husband’s driver? In a particular instance a highly titled man of God notorious for sex escapades with married women and teenagers was reported being asked by his daughter if a spell of sexual immorality was cast on him. Let me quickly submit here that anyone addicted to sexual sin or perversion deserves empathy and not castigation. I believe by the time you read through this book you will come to terms with my assertion.

Sex is an activity that withstands all kinds of pressures and adversities like wars, famine, slavery, poverty, servitude, sickness etc. Israelites were still reproducing despite Pharaoh’s servitude and Adolf Hitler’s Holocaust. Africa’s population is on the increase despite crass poverty, droughts, famine, wars, oppressive leadership etc. Mentally and physically challenged women and men have biological children which presuppose the existence of sexual activities.

“But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.” Ex.1:12

Everybody is interested in sex for good or for bad, overtly or covertly. The problem is the inability to speak freely about it. In his book Psychology of Sex, Havelock Ellis, says, “Religion and morality have been invoked in behalf of silence on such subjects (SEX) by those who might have remembered that, even from his standpoint, a great Father of the Church had declared that we should not be ashamed to speak of what God was not ashamed to create” emphasis mine. Has the situation really changed?

While sexual sins and perversions and their consequences are almost drowning the world, ‘good’ people still speak about it in hush tones. Some preachers still sound apologetic when preaching about the subject. Meanwhile dare-devil men and women the world over are busy making waves and huge fortunes promoting negative sex. They of course are the ones quick at castigating preachers and moralists who are loud against sexual immorality to the extent of setting them up for sex scandals. They fear their sex business would collapse if the eyes of the people are open to the truth.

It is unfortunate that some of those who are suffering the consequences of their past or present sinful sex lives do not want the subject mentioned openly. They consider it distasteful bringing issues of sex to public glare. The question is; ‘do we want to continue keeping silence for others to suffer the same fate? Is such silence not tantamount to hypocrisy, selfishness and wickedness? Does it not sound like graveyard peace given the high degree of sexual decadence globally?’
