1 CHRONICLES 12:32
The Trumpeter is a moment to prepare the saints for the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ, calling the Church back to the truth and the path of righteousness and warning the unbelieving world about the coming judgement. It is also the period we are looking at the world events and amazing facts of the last days, as already foretold in the Word of God. Some of the revelations you may see here may shock you.
PRAYER: We thank you Lord for this time to share in your word. Sanctify us with your truth for your word is truth. Let there be understanding, knowledge and wisdom for my reader today and for the salvation of souls through Christ our Lord. Amen
“But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him”. (Matthew 25:6)
“And of the children of Issachar, men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment”. (1 Chronicles 12:32)
Life is a lesson. There is no way to know where we are now unless we record what had happened where we are. One of the problems of man is that he fails to learn lessons from history. In life, there are always things to remember. The word of God is the light to the right way. It directs on many things. Again, anyone who knows the time is always the commander of his generation. All one needs now is to interpret the handwriting on the wall. It is a time of great shaking before the departure. We are waiting for the uppertaker, not the undertaker.
There was a council in hell. All demons presented to Satan their different strategies to win the whole world over to him. One of the demons said that he will confuse the world with the belief that there is no God. His system was discard by Satan because he believed Himself, there is God. Secondly, the other came up with the idea of no hell, again he was refused because the enemy knows that he has a time and knows his abode or destination after his torment. Finally, one came up that he will go to the world and confuse the inhabitants by telling them, “there is much time” to live, to play, to party and enjoy themselves, to do anything they want. He was the one sent to the world by Satan. So, men do believe today there is still enough time to live and do unnecessary things. This is a great deception and delusion from the pit of hell.
God is in the business of shaking the world today.
“For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; and I will shake all nations...
(Haggai 2:6-7)
God is now shaking the heavens, the earth, the seas, the dry land and nations of the earth. We are observing all of them taking place in our time today because the word of God must surely come to pass. Some of the areas affected are scientific, economic, political, morals and spiritual. Indeed, we are living in the changing and exciting times of human history.
Now, lets reflect on the generation that failed to understand their time and refused the warnings by God and then paid dearly for their ignorance and pride.
It was a global event of April 14th 1912.
It is now over 100 years ago. Some of us were not in existence then, but God is saying again, “learn from this event”. It was a Sunday night, a ship called Titanic sank deep into the Atlantic Ocean. It was built by the experts, The White Star Company to challenge the arrival of the first master, the Olympia, the already built talk of the town ship. The White Star Company boasted after the construction of the Dream ship, “Not even God can sink Titanic”
For us to understand the sinking of this great ship, we are going to look at the culture of the 1912.
1. A TIME OF GREAT OPTIMISM
Everyday, it seemed that something bigger or better was being expected and invented. A time technology is ruled as god.
2. A TIME OF REPLACEMENT
Man thought he has created heavens on earth. Looking at technology as salvation of man “Nothing bad could happen” It was a sweet world.
3. A TIME OF INCREASE IN KNOWLEDGE
One of the industrial achievements to show man’s greatness was the production of this dream ship, the Titanic. The Dream ship was designed as an epitome of Style, Luxury and Safety. One carpenter said, “Titanic was the last word in luxury and craftsmanship”. It was considered to be a floating palace. It may interest you to know that inside Titanic, no expense was spared for luxury and comfort. On board were:
a. Turkish Bath
b. Swimming Pool
c. Tennis Court
d. Gymnasiums
e. Ball Rooms
d. Elevators
Titanic was 882.5 feet long and 175 feet high. It was constructed 16 watertight compartment. It could float with the first 4 compartments flooded but not 5. So, it was referred and called “Unsinkable”. The shipbuilder Magazine called her “Practically Unsinkable”
In 14th April 1912, at 11.40 pm- in the cold night in the Atlantic Ocean, Titanic struck a huge iceberg. The berg put holes along 300 feet of the starboard side in the Titanic flooding her first 6 compartments. Mathematically, it was certainty, she would sink.
Really, In our world today, different compartments are already touched by our world mighty icebergs, shaking our “Dream ship” Many of our world systems are badly affected by these shaking. Our 6 compartments that are affected now by different shaking and serious events are:
a. Family Institution compartment
b. Economic Compartment
c. Political Compartment
d. Climatic Compartment
e. Spiritual Compartment
f. Moral Compartment
What are the lessons to learn from this Dream ship and and our time now?
1. A TIME MEN TO FAIL TO PUT THEIR TRUST IN GOD.
Just like in Titanic, the issue about God is dying fast in our time. For Titanic, the passengers put their faith and trust in a man, Captain Smith. He was the most highly paid Captain in the White Star Company. Almost worshiped by the crew and passengers. His 40 years had been great. There had been no worst experience at all for him.
The 3 Captain Smiths of this 21st century (where men placed their trust) are:
a. Wealth.
“Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, When iniquity at my heels compasseth me about? They that trust in their wealth, And boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him; (For the redemption of their life is costly, And it faileth for ever;) That he should still live alway, That he should not see corruption. For he shall see it. Wise men die; The fool and the brutish alike perish, And leave their wealth to others. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, And their dwelling-places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names. But man being in honor abideth not: He is like the beasts that perish”.
(Psalms 49:5-12)
b. Popularity.
“Though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh: if any other man thinketh to have confidence in the flesh, I yet more: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; as touching zeal, persecuting the church; as touching the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless. Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ. Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ, and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith: that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death; if by any means I may attain unto the resurrection from the dead”.

c. Knowledge.
“Thus saith Jehovah, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he hath understanding, and knoweth me, that I am Jehovah who exerciseth lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith Jehovah”.
(Jeremiah 9:23-24)
Friend, What is your Captain Smith? Where do you put your trust and faith?
2. TIME MEN REFUSE TO HEED THE WARNING
On Sunday, 14th April 1912, the Titanic was warned 7 times about the iceberg. Just watch and see!
At 9.40 pm, just 2 hours before the collision, the next to last warning came. The message was “Beware, much heavy packed ice”. Jack Philips, the radio operator saw the warning but put it under the paper weight. He would give it to the Captain later. Yes, he would do it later. After all, there is still time. This has been the message from the pit of hell. Friend, procrastination and delay is dangerous. Tomorrow never comes.
At 11.05 pm, just 35 minutes before the sudden collision, Evans, the radio operator on the California end sent another message to the Titanic, It reads “Say, O, Man, we are stopped and surrounded by icebergs” Jack Philips wired back, “Shut up, Shut Up, I’m busy’ He never gave the message to the Captain.
At 11.30 pm, just 10 minutes before the collision, Evans on the California, US turned off the wireless and went to bed. California was only 15-20 miles. After the Titanic hit the iceberg, the California saw some flares going up- a sign of danger and emergency. But they thought it was a company signs that the ship was having a party.
What a confusion!
Friend, I don’t want to be Jack Philip’s and so sounding an alarm. This journey of life is surrounded by many icebergs. The same way, In this 21st Century, we have 3 category of Christians:
a. Captain Smith’s Christians- “False Confidence” (1 Corinthians 15:19)
b. Jack Philip’s Christians- “Careless Ones”-(Matthew 25:3-5)
c. Evans Christians –“Sleepers” (1 Thessalonians 5:7-8)
In 15th April 1912 at 2.20 am-Titanic went down, having 2207 passengers on board. 705 persons were picked up from 16 lifeboats. On that historic night, 1502 souls went to meet their maker. Some were prepared, others were not.
Friend, It’s Midnight!
Anything can happen now! This is the moment and opportunity to change the course and direction of our eternal souls before it becomes late.
Titanic, the Dream Ship was no longer what it was imagined to be. God intercepted the imagination of men. The ship had 2207 passengers on board but lifeboats were only for 1200 persons. Parting scenes were horrible and families torn apart.
During the dispensation of human government, we saw something like this. On the time of Democracy, one man – Noah was found righteous and just. He obtained favor before the Lord and built an ark for the saving of his household and condemnation of his generation. The ark had only one door (Jesus Christ- John 14:6). God himself shut the door (Genesis 7:16)
Friend, Thank God, the Door is still open!
For the passengers, death was the only thing they expected- Amos 4:12
It’s indeed Midnight!. It’s time for a Departure. Men should now rush to get their lifeboat. He is a person. His name is Jesus Christ.
Are you a believer in Jesus Christ? How are you living your life this moment? Are you sincere or careless? Indeed, heaven will be a surprise for many people. If you are not a Christian, you are playing with your life. All of us must spend eternity somewhere. In the time of Noah, God closed the door of the ark by Himself but as said, the Door is still open today. Jesus Christ is the door to your healing, deliverance, prosperity and salvation. Accept him today and be free forever.
I want to give you an opportunity to reconcile with your Maker now.
