Summary: The family requested a brief service at the shore and scattering of ashes in the ocean

In Celebration of the life of

Audrey XXXXXX

Born August 2, 1940 - Died November 15, 2018

Greeting by Pastor Howard Gunter

Call To Worship “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” Deut.33:27

Opening Prayer – “Almighty God, Creator of Love, Life and Death, we seek your presence with us now and grant us grace and peace as we mourn the loss of our dear Audrey.”

Reading – Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd;

I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters.

He restores my soul;

He leads me in the paths of righteousness

For His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil;

For You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil;

My cup runs over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

All the days of my life;

And I will dwell in the house of the LORD

Message:

We who are gathered here are each part of the family of Audrey. Naturally, some are closer than others, yet each loved her very much and in very special ways.

Audrey was not a super religious person, but we all know that she was an upright, honest and decent person who exemplified a Christian walk in many ways. We understand that religion is not the criteria for entry into eternal life in the eternal heaven. The beliefs that Audrey carried in her heart and love for God is how we know that at the very instant of her passing from this world she was in the arms of a loving God.

We each have cherished memories that will never fade. We each will rejoice at our reunion with Audrey some glorious day at the Will of God.

The Committal Service

Man that is born of a woman has but a short time to live and is full of trouble. He comes up and is cut down, like a flower; he flees from shadows, and never remains in one place.

In the midst of life, we are in death; and to whom may we look for aid and comfort, but unto you O Lord?

Now, as it has pleased Almighty God in His infinite wisdom and mercy to take out of this world the soul of our beloved Audrey, we now commit her body to the eternal rest - earth to earth, ashes to ashes and dust to dust.

Our Audrey is not here. What lies here is only the house in which she lived among us for a season. Audrey is now in the presence of God, who judges the living and the dead.

Therefore, let us take comfort in God’s promise of life after death.

“The Lord bless you and keep you, The Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you: The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.” AMEN Numbers 6:24-26

All present are invited to join in The Lord’s Prayer.

“May the longtime Sun shine upon you, all Love surround you, and the pure light within you guide your way on.” - Irish Blessing
