"No one can come to me, unless the Father who sent me makes them want to come. But if they do come, I will raise them to life on the last day."
The scripture makes us to understand that no one can come to Jesus except the father draws him. It is only God that can touch the heart of whoever He wants to touch for repentance and salvation to take place. No amount of sermon can change a man if God is not involved, but we have a part to play in making unbelievers to come to Christ. We are the channel God will use to make unbelievers to be drawn to Him. God has given us the mandate to go into the world and make disciples of all nations; we need to fulfil this mandate by making positive impact on people around us and our society at large.
Jesus made positive impact in all the places he went to, he made sure that the people were not left the same way he met them (he met all their needs).
He provided healing, food, salvation and words of comfort to heal the broken hearts. Many believers these days find it difficult to attend to the need of people around them, and we want them to confess the lord that we are confessing. Our lives should be different from the rest of the people in the world; giving and rendering help to people should not be a problem for us.
How many lives have you touched in your community? What help have you rendered to the development of the community you live in? These are ways that you can win people to Christ without stress. You are the light of the world, your light should affect your community, let your light radiate around people in your community and not within the four walls of your church. If you as a Christian can be kind, caring and helpful in your community, you will not need to preach for long before souls will be won to Christ. The scripture says we should let people see our good deeds so that they can glorify your father in heaven. It is not enough to preach and quote the scripture, but let us put what we preach into practice by rendering a helping hand to the needy in our community like Jesus did, and see them eager to serve God without forcing or dragging them to do so.
“Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go I wish you well keep warm and well fed, but does nothing about his physical needs. What good is it?” (James 2:15-16). People cannot see God; but they can see us (as God’s image and His representatives) we have a part to play to make unbelievers to be drawn to God. Let us love and care for them both physically, materially and spiritually. May the lord bless you as you go in His strength to play your part in the great commission.
