Summary: This is a revision of a sermon I posted over a year ago on another website. The subject matter is more timely than ever considering the rapid descent into evil and chaos we have witnessed recently. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

There are some things that are getting more hard to find as the days draw nearer to the LORD'S return, such as ethical politicians, intelligent leftists, happy liberals, competent leadership, and sound Biblical preaching on the reality and horror of a literal, real place called hell. Now that I have your attention, let us dispense with any notion brewing in some of your heads that when it comes to the topic of hell, you want to either avoid or deny it because it interferes with your self-deluded idea of Almighty God being a God of love and compassion who is too good to see any of His created beings cast into a place a horrible as hell. You might even balk at the idea of hell entirely, chalking it up as the creation of a "sick mind", according to the rants of the late atheist Christopher Hitchens and others who think along his frame of mind. You may even consider yourself a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and cannot come to grips with something as terrifying as hell and the fact that He indeed did put it into place.

If this is where you are right now, then as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I cannot and will not allow you to wander in that type of deception and unbelief and remain content with false ideas on what our God can and cannot do in terms of seeing that justice will be settled in the courtroom of heaven for His grace and glory. Pastor, if you are reading this sermon and have not been faithful in preaching the whole counsel of God, then continue on and I pray that your heart will be convicted and you will repent here and now for starving your flock and feeding them trends, fads, opinions, and worldly causes that will do nothing for them in terms of eternal peace and salvation. The truth of Scripture overrides feelings, alleged "offenses" and false senses of comfort and nobody who trusts Christ as Lord and Savior can afford to be silent when it comes to the fact that there is coming a day when we are all going to stand before Almighty God and give an account of our lives to Him, both good and bad (Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 12:13-21; John 5:28-29; Acts 17:30-31; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:11-15).

Whatever realm of personal convictions or beliefs any of us possess have been corroded with sin and, apart from the intervention of the Sovereign LORD, we are all blind and totally unable to confront and rebuke the obvious wrongs that are in plain sight. The toxic atmosphere of "political correctness", "cancel culture", "fake news" and progressive "Christianity" being promoted by almost all denominations and prevalent religious spokesmen is promoting a fanatical state of denial and ridicule of what is plainly written in the Scriptures as well as the very person of the Lord Jesus Christ whose words are to be declared as true, no matter what people might think or say. In our arrogance, many of us feel that we need to gently but firmly tell the Sovereign God of all Creation Who holds our very lives and existence in His hands (Hebrews 10:31) that what He has said to us in the Holy Scriptures does not really mean what it says, or were somehow "corrupted" by superstitions and errors in translation or interpretation, or we want to defend His character by "toning down" the fact that He has judged nations and people throughout history, often harshly, for their failure to obey or follow His direction. Oh, give me a break! Let God be true and every man a liar (Romans 3:4)!

His own people, the nation of Israel, had dark periods of idol worship and gross wickedness along with times of devotion and obedience. Even when warned by His prophets, Israel still refused to listen to God until the day came where He exiled them from their land as punishment for their disobedience and false worship, placing them under the iron grips of Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. Yet, He chose to preserve them and keep them together as a people of His choosing and under His protection during the centuries when they had no homeland until May 1948. It is from Israel that the Lord Jesus, as King of Kings, will rule and reign over the new heaven and earth as He declared and promised to His followers in the Scriptures. The Jews and the nation of Israel are the people of God, plain and simple. If that upsets your political or ideological apple cart, take it up with Almighty God, but I promise that it will not end well for you. Any nation or people that have given the Jews trouble or have persecuted them have ended up on the ash heap of history (Genesis 12;1-4). America, you are no exception. Deal with it! All the flag waving, brass bands, and celebrations are as so much rubbish in the sight of God if we refuse to stand with Him or His people.

Let us return to the issue of God's sovereignty and His decision to create a place called hell. To deny this is to call Him, the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit liars or misinformed, or that the Holy Bible is mistaken concerning this issue. Not only is this arrogant and blasphemous, but it attempts to convince me that your little finite brain with its limited cell structure is better organized and you somehow have the unmitigated gall and nerve to walk up to the Sovereign KING and correct Him? Let me make it as plain as day, friend. He does not, has not, and will not ever need your advice, opinion, assistance, or permission to as He pleases and chooses in the affairs of His creation (Job, Chapters 38-42; Isaiah 44:6). You are at best a vapor, here one minute and gone the next (James 4:13-15). Cemeteries and memoirs are loaded with people who once thought that they were indispensable and influential. The volumes written by skeptics and scholars who spent their lives mocking the Scriptures and the person of God are now long forgotten or found in the local bargain bin of a thrift store collecting dust and yellowing with age. God always wins, and He has the victory over what some theologians refer to as "The Invisible War", the age old battle for the souls of humanity between God and Satan, along with the angels and demons who carry out respective orders and initiate strategies. It is a war that has already been won by the completed work of redemption by the Lord Jesus Christ in His death on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, a debt that we in our wicked state could never repay (Romans 5:6-11). His death and resurrection from the dead three days later confirmed that His mission of salvation was sufficient and final. it is the redemption and total forgiveness of our sins by God that is the foundation of Christianity, not church buildings, differing denominations, clerics, priests, regulations, or religious observations that mean nothing in terms of real peace with God.

Hell is a necessary part of God's plan to bring all events under His sovereign control and to draw history to a final conclusion. Hell will bring Him all glory and honor from those who have trusted in Him for salvation and to provide final, irrevocable, and unavoidable justice which will satisfy and comfort every person who has had to suffer and survive in an atmosphere of evil that appeared to have no end or relief in this present world. God's love will never allow anyone who has harmed His children, or spent their lives denying and mocking His character, or who have preyed upon, molested, or abused the innocent. He will not spare anyone who had taken it upon themselves to wreck the fledgling faith of anyone through deception, ridicule, and denial of God, His Word, or of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:6). Anyone who relied on themselves for redemption will be shut out of His presence (Romans 1:18-32, 3:10-18; Ephesians 2:8-9). Hell is the perfect creation of God to dispose of anyone who rejects and hates Him (Matthew 25:41). Nobody has returned from hell to dispute that fact (Luke 16:19-31), and no one ever will until the end of history, where the Lord Jesus will send the judged and condemned wicked to the Lake of Fire for eternity. If there were no such a place as hell, then God's character would be forever maligned and the mission of Jesus was for nothing.

Would it really be loving of God to allow unrepentant pedophiles, child abusers, sex traffickers, Satanists, ritual murderers, occultists, perverts, pornographers, pimps, prostitutes, anyone who hates Him, political radical, atheist, agnostic, tyrant, jihadist, cult leader, false teacher, thief, abortionist, corrupt official, or any other rebel against Him into a place that had been reserved for those who have placed their faith and trust in Him and still have to share the glories of heaven with these reprobates? Heaven would be hell for the righteous. Any concept of a final justice for the victims, martyrs, and the innocent who had their lives horrendously altered by the actions of those for whom life meant nothing but a selfish, self-absorbed time of unrighteous and perverse gratification would be a type of eternal cruelty of the vilest sort. it is exactly by the loving hand of God that He will once and for all cast all rebels and miscreants, along with the devil and his demons, the coming Antichrist, the False Prophet into a final place of eternal torment, terror, and agony where they will never escape nor have any more opportunities to bring evil upon anyone ever again. The memory of these wicked souls will be wiped away by the Lord Jesus Christ at the start of the eternal state (Revelation 21:1-7). The time is quickly approaching when all sin and sorrow will be forever purged from creation. God will have the final word with no appeal or review. Eden will be reborn and there will be eternal peace, contentment, freedom from sin, and fellowship with the LORD face to face forever with our brethren (1 Corinthians 2:8-9).

If you have read this sermon up to now and you know that you are not ready to face God and answer for your life, I implore you to repent of your sins NOW (2 Corinthians 6:2) and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to save you from the wrath to come and for Him to have total control over your life from this time on (Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-13). Start reading His Word, the Holy Bible, every day (I would suggest a version such as the New King James) and I recommend that you begin with the Gospel of Luke, then go to the Acts of the Apostles to learn of Jesus and the early church. Find a church where the Bible is taught as the inerrant and sufficient Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21) a nd where Jesus Christ is proclaimed as Lord. Take time each day to talk to God in prayer, and share your story with others (Matthew 28: 18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8). Do NOT ignore, ridicule, or put this off. Your life is too precious to waste it in the the eternal torments of hell. God truly is love, and He is the One who will give you true justice and vengeance against those who have or would hurt you. His love is eternal without any regret or rejection. As someone who has followed Him these many years, I can tell you that He does keep His word and He is getting ready to take us home. Make sure you are ready to take the trip.
