What do people allow to guide them - astrologers, cards, celebrities and athletes -
We know at the center of our being that we are lost-
We try to make laws to guide people - but Laws can’t make you want to obey - seat belt laws - then and now. Culture has valued seat belts and parents who don’t use them are viewed as irresponsible.
That didn’t work with prohibition - blue laws. People will do what they want - the trick is to know God so well that you do what He wants because it is what you want. If you have to make people do what you want - you have a problem - heart problem

When Paul says imitate me like I imitate Christ, he wasn’t being arrogant
1 Cor. 4:16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me.
Heb. 13:7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

Ez. 11:19-21 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.
Ez. 36:26-27 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
