God stands between us and our circumstances
Sometimes in our life, God will allow us to be hemmed into situations where it is humanly impossible for us to get ourselves out of. In other words, sometime in life we find ourselves in situations where we cannot go forward and we cannot go backward. Sometime we find ourselves employed on a job that we just do not want to go to because the boss is just impossible to work with and yet we cannot stay home because of all our bills are due. Some time we find our selves hemmed into a relationship we know we cannot go forward with it and yet we do not have the strength to get out of it.
You see church God will sometime allow us to be hemmed into situations or that is circumstances so that He may be glorified. The Lord says in Psalm 50:15 call upon me in your day of trouble and I will deliver you and you shall glorify me. Church the Lord knows that unless we have difficult situations, then some of us would never pray. Unless God allow trouble to over come us, some of us would never seek His face. So many people only come to church to ask God for a financial blessing because they are in hemmed into a situation where they are down to their last dime and all the bills are due. There are so many people the only time they come to church is when there is a death in the family, many parents the only time they pray for their children is when one is in trouble. It is sad but true the only way God can get our attention some time is when He allows situations and circumstances to over come us.
For God lead the children of Israel out of Egypt to the Red Sea. He hardens the heart of Pharaoh and caused him to pursuit the people. God could have leaded the people another way, He could have taken them straight from Egypt to the Promised Land, or He could have destroyed Pharaoh back in Egypt. However, He chose not too.

You see church, God will also allow us to be faced with situations so that He can demonstrate His power. For in study the journey of the children of Israel we find in the 14th chapter at the first verse where God instructs Moses on the route they must go. For you see church the people was only a short distance from, the place they were to go to worship the Lord, then God had then to turn to the right and travel toward the Red Sea. You see church God knew that Pharaoh had a plan to destroy the people. Just as He knows today that the devil has a desire to steal, kill and destroy us. However, God also has a plan for us.
In our text we find the children of Israel facing the Red Sea, they have mountains on one side, impassible dessert on the other, and the enemy on their back. Some of us has found ourselves in similar situations we are faced with problems in our homes, we are surrounded by problems on our jobs, we find ourselves hemmed into a relationship that is going nowhere and people are talking about us on both sides however church I stopped by to tell you that just as God knew the fragile situation that the Israelites were in He knows the circumstances you are facing this morning.
We need to remember He said I would never leave you nor forsake you. I will be with you always even until the end of the earth. Jesus tells us in John 14th chapter at the first verse “Let not your hearts be troubled. Trust in God and trust in me.” And also you need to remember my brothers and my sister the words of the Apostle Paul in Roman 8: 28 “We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. Church just as the Israelites were God’s called people so are we, and just as He had a plan to save and deliver the people way back then, He has a plan to deliver us from the hands of the enemy and our situations today.
You see church, just as the Red Sea was not the end of the earth for the people then, the situations you are facing this morning is not the end for you.
Look at verse 13 of our lesson Moses said to the people “ Do not be afraid but stand still and see the salvation of the Lord for you today, He did not say after awhile and by and by, but today. Church, God wants to deliver some of us today, but we are just like the children of Israel while God wants to take us out of our situations we are grumbling and wants to go back into the same situations He just saved us from. For as soon as He delivers some people from bad relationships they return right back, He delivers people from drugs and alcohol and yet the moment trouble comes their way, they want to get drunk or high. He deliver us from over due bills give us a good credit history and the first thing we do is over charge again. You see church the people was out of Egypt, but Egypt was not out of them, like some church folks today, they are out of the world but the world is not out of them.
For they tell me the people became to fuss and grumble with Moses, talking about why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness, we told you that it was better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness. Church so many Christians feel that it is better for them to stay in the world and eat, drink and be merry, and serve the gods of the present age than to trust God.
However just as Moses told the people then, it is true for us today, He told them the Egyptians, whom you see today, and you shall see again no more forever. Church I do not know what your Egyptians that troubling you today, but I do know that God will fight your battle if you just stand still. For the battle is not your it’s the Lord.. You see church the people had forgotten so quickly, how God had just a few short days saved and delivered them out of the hands of slavery in Egypt. We too forget how God watch over us and brought us safe thus far. Church, I do not believe He brought us this far to leave us now.
And the Lord said to Moses why do you cry unto me. Church God was not telling Moses not to pray, but what He was saying was I have heard your prayers I have already fixed the problem, Church, the Lord has heard our prayers, He know what we have need of, now He wants us to us what He has given us to get the job done. He told Moses to lift up your rod, stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide. Church God has given us power over the Red Seas in our life. Jesus said whatever you ask in my name believing you shall receive it. He said I give you power to bind up and loose, I give you power to heal the sick to cast out demons and to bond the broken hearted all in my name if you only believe. Nevertheless, our problem today church is we lack the faith to use what the Lord has already given us.
However church we need to believe this morning that God stands between us and our circumstances for as God was giving Moses instructions on how to part the Red Sea, He stirring up the enemy making them that must more angry with the people. You see church the more the Lord blesses you the angrier your enemy will be with you and the fewer friends you will have. Remember the song, friends do not treat me as they use to since I laid my burden down. In other word, since the Lord has blessed me with a good job, a nice home, and clothes to wear and took me out of a world of sin, my friends are few, but my joy is unsurpassable, for I may not have many friends as I used to have but now I have peace of mind and I have a joy that I never could find.
Talking about the Lord standing between us and our circumstances in life.
Moreover, they tell me that as the children of Israel was facing the Red Sea, and Pharaoh was on their back and they were surrounding by mountains and dessert the Angel of God moved and went behind then. Now notice church, the Angel had been in front of them, but now He repositions Himself and go from in front of them to go behind them. I can Imagine when the children of Israel saw this they became confused and said Lord why are you leaving us now, when we need you the most, church you need to know that sometime God will lead us so far then He shows us the way to go as He reposition Himself to protect our back. In other words, God gives us clear direction in the way we should go, as He tell us the way you know, for Jesus said I am the Way, the truth and life; Church, God knows the closer our walk with Jesus the angrier the devil will be. In other words when we say we have decided to follow Jesus; the devil will try to turn us back; when we say the cross is before us and the world is behind us; the devil will try to sneak up behind us therefore, God moves to our back to keep the enemy from over coming us. In other words, God stands between our circumstances and us. And sometimes God goes behind us to keep us from going back. For you see, we sometimes get to the point where we just want to go back into our old habits our old ways of doing things. Because the old way was comfortable, the old way of life is familiar. However God is saying to us, you cannot go back. He is saying I did not bring you out of that bad relationship for you to go back into it. He is saying I did not bring you out of debt to see you go back and buy stuff you know you cannot pay for. He is saying I did not bring you out of sin to see you go right back to a life of sin. He is saying I did not deliver you from drug and alcohol to watch you go running back to them at the first sign of trouble, so God just places Himself between you and back yonder to keep you from returning to the past. In other words God stands between us and our circumstances in life. Keep my mind clear Holy Ghost, for I need your power this morning.
They tell me God told Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea, and he caused the waters to go back, and made a way for them to walk over on dry land. You see that is what God does, just when you feel that you can not make it, you look in front and you can not see your way clearly, just when you are about to throw in the towel and give up, God shows up and opens up a way out of now way, for He is a way maker, ask me how I know for one day He made a way, He made a way for me, when my life was dark and dim, Jesus can and He open a way, church Jesus is waiting today to move in front of your enemies and keep then blind so they can not see you and be an light to your dark path so that you can see the way,
Read: 19-21 and end with how Jesus is the Angel of the Lord. Jesus, Mary cousin, Jesus John the Baptist cousin, Jesus who gives sight to the blind, raise the dead, doctor in sick room lawyer in court room bridge over trouble waters, Jesus who was crucified dead and buried but early on that third morning stepped out of the grave not with some power but all power of heaven and earth in His hands.
