Summary: The description of a "Nowhere Between Two Somewhere’s".

Metathesis Place

I want to talk about some thoughts I have had over the years about a “Metathesis Place”.

It is necessary that we have an understanding of the dynamics and the mechanics that govern and promote change!

It seems to me as though sometimes God changes the order of things… even though His order never changes for it is… Seed Time then Harvest… it is Father to Son!

But the fact remains… He never changes… but He does, in our lives, sometimes change things. It is necessary that we many times undergo… CHANGE!

I have said before and believe so strongly, that we are consistently faced with a challenge, and if we are going to stay on the cutting edge of all that is Life and Power in Him, then we must seek out… We must be aware of… ALL that will propel us into our future and our destiny!!

Heb 12:26-27

26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

(KJV)

I find those words…”Once More” to be interesting……

I also read the indication of the removal of things that can be shaken… WHY???

So that which can not be shaken will remain!!

Now… if you look that word “removing” up in the Strong’s concordance… you will see it translates into the word “metathesis”!!

Lets break that word on down….

“Meta” implies change or movement...

“Thesis” is a “statement laid down to be debated... or... a change of the proposition of a thing laid down.

So……… metathesis… implies a change of the proposition of a thing laid down…OR… the picking up of the thing laid down and setting it in an altogether different context… which is… TRANSITION!!

You could say it this way…..

The rules and structures and propositions about reality have changed!

Some examples:

Heb 7:12

12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

(KJV)

Heb 11:5

5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

(KJV)

Now one thing that is necessary for us to see is the place that faith occupies … in the midst of TRANSITION!!!

Without this understanding… it will be difficult to maintain a vision of the future and bring the manifestation of the dream to pass!

You must remember… there are invisible forces at work. Forces that are working FOR you and AGAINST you.

But I have good news for you today! It is possible for you to have direction, even in the maze of transition!!

I remember reading somewhere about a subspecialty study of quantum physics called “Chaology”. Chaology is the study of Chaos.

In this it was being explained by scientists that there is wisdom underlying the movement of particles…at quantum levels.

I do remember these exact words… that these moving particles were undergoing “chaotic change”!!

In other words, what sometimes looks like chaos on the surface, actually has a pattern that is moving towards an intended end!

Now… we don’t need a quantum physicist to tell us there is wisdom in the midst of chaos…. We just look at...

Gen 1:2

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

(KJV)

Some versions use the word “Brooding”… Like a mother hen would do…

I submit to us, that brooding over the chaos was not just “A” cloud of glory… but “THE” cloud of glory!!

That cloud of glory was impressing itself. On that turbulence… that chaos… it was changing it, transitioning it, into the image that was hidden….IN THE CLOUD!

Remember the bones in Ezekiel?

If we had seen it with our naked eye, we would have thought it was a violent bone storm. But!, it was a metathesis taking place!

It was a transformation of a pile of bones…into a new order!

These bones are very important to us!

Let me see if I can paint this picture for you.

You see… the prophetic wind began to blow upon those dry bones, and bones began to fly everywhere!

But, then the prophetic wind began to cease and the Bible says the bones began to come together… bone to bone!

See, in the process of transition, in the process of change...

1) We must recognize...that there is a skeletal framework of our future…. Somewhere in the pile of bones from our past…our yesterdays… AND...

2) We must embrace the sometimes chaotic transitional place of change as a “nowhere between two somewheres”

Can you see it?

Right here in the middle of where you formerly were... and where you are destined to be... is your metathesis!!!!!

Now… something else I have learned over the years….. that transition and change sometimes brings tidal waves! This may not always be appealing to the one who is having to ride out the storm!

What do we do if it is “I” who find myself in this place??

Go back to Heb 12:27

27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Sometimes there is a removing of things that may have served a purpose at one time….but…. now they must undergo a “CHAOS” in order to be reconstructed and enlarged!!! WHY???

So that they can hold the dream of the future!!!!

Let me say it another way...

We must be able to identify the challenge of transition, yet at the same time maintain encouragement to hold on to your dreams!!

You may have heard me address prophecy before, and I want to do so now, to gain a better understanding of what I am saying here today.

There is one prophecy I have noticed over the years that comes out a lot… I call it a GENERIC prophecy.

You cant miss it with this one….

It talks about God closing one door and opening another door and pouring out a blessing that there is not room enough to contain it…

It sounds spiritual, and it is.

It has the ring of God’s voice to it…

There is profound and simple truth revealed in it.

But… whether it is a specific truth for this specific individual… remains to be seen!

My point is this…..

When something we cherish has been taken away from us…we all appreciate hearing that something new is about to happen!

But… the fact of the matter is this…. Some of the things we created in former days have outlived their usefulness!

Some of us have been caught by surprise because God closed the door on those “things”, and you have not prepared yourself for a future!

NEVER FORGET THIS!

Closed doors and opened doors will always be a part of our journey to our future!

Now let me bring this together... back to the prophecy thing...

Most prophets (if you could call them that truthfully) who give this type of word... seem to forget to tell the recipient that there is a place between the closed door and the opened door!

Yes, There are two somewheres! There is the place they have been, and there is the place they are going. BUT!!!! There is a NO-where in between!

And that NOWHERE is a place of transition! Some might call it a place of limbo. It can be a hard place… it can be a chaotic place…. But it is a NECESSARY PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a place of change!!

It can sometimes feel as though the gates of hell have actually prevailed against your dreams... As though everything you ever had was over.

Even David realized that vision does not always come on the heights of a mountain top, but it comes in-between two mountain tops!... and where might that be?

In the depths of a valley! It is here He restoreth my soul!

Ps 23:1-6

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

(KJV)

Right between your former somewhere and the next somewhere... THERE IS a nowhere!!! A transitioning, changing place!!

If you miss everything else… get this….

It is in this transitioning, metathesis place… where your perspective is balanced and your future is re-created and breathed upon with a fresh appreciation for the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit!

Transition is what God uses to help us re-define where we have come from, and learn where we are going!

Transition is the place where we learn how to work with what sometimes feels like chaos, and we learn to reshape it by a powerful and a convincing promise of a future!

It is a place where we are pressed to accomplish more than we ever thought possible!!

We must allow ourselves to be aware of the reason for this metathesis place!!

If we don’t, then we just get mixed up in the chaos!

So… What do we do???

We do this...

We realize the purpose of a place of transition… and WE CHOOSE to cooperate with the Holy Spirit... and we begin calling those things that are not... as though they were!

And guess what!?………… Transition ALWAYS leads to Transformation!
