Summary: The life of a man is not composed of what they have. What good does is it for a man to gain the whole world yet forfeits his soul!Be rich in God!

16And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ’ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’” This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:13-21

We all have plans. We all have wishes of prosperity and goodness in our lives. We all have rights, privileges and values that we don’t want them to be infringed. All that is good and praiseworthy, but do your plans, rights, privileges, and values rich towards God? What are your wishes towards God? To whom are your riches toward? Why are your plans always failing? Why are you not enjoying your riches and possessions?

Jesus is giving us a parable of a man who was rich and was planning to expand his riches. After having successfully doing so, God took his life that very night. The word tells us that he was not making up his riches towards God. He was selfish, self cantered and all his plans were just revolving around himself. Do you know that you don’t own yourself? Do you know that since you came on the earth so will one day leave earth?

The bible tells us to commit all our ways unto the Lord so that they may prosper. It further tells us that all our ways are ordained by him. Psalm 139 then tells us that he knew us before we even come to be, in our mothers womb he saw us as we have been knitted there. Jesus Christ also tell us not to worry about all the needs of our lives, but to first seek his kingdom and his righteousness and all things will then be added unto us. He even rebukes us from heaping up treasures here on earth were it can be destroyed or stolen but rather store it up in heaven were there is no thief or mites (Matthew 6:19-21). He is not discouraging us from enjoying ourselves nor from getting wealth, but is telling us what is more important doing and to who man should be rich towards.

You are crying today things aren’t moving well, life is now bitter and very disappointing. Get rich toward God. You are having a lot of money in your account, good cars, luxurious houses, big family but no happiness. Get rich toward God.

You are thinking great plans, dreaming big dreams and surely you will achieve them but remember to get rich toward God. You are not facing any problems, all is just super and life is just good, you still need to get rich toward God.

No matter what you are going through just get rich toward God,

No matter who you are, get rich toward God,

No matter, you are poor in your life but you can get rich toward God,

No matter you is a pastor of a big church get rich towards God.

Remember Lazarus and the rich man, Lazarus was rich toward God (but very poor in his life), the rich man was poor toward God (but very rich in his life). After their death Lazarus was taken to Abraham’s side (heaven) and the rich man to hell were he was in agony and pain. He cried for Lazarus’s help but it was too late. Being rich towards God have nothing to do with the number of years in knowing God, size of your church, title you obtained at bible college or how famous you are.

Don’t make it too late to get rich toward God. Seek his kingdom, his righteousness and get rich toward God. Be always happy, love everyone, forgive everyone, give always, pray always, read his word always, fellowship with others always, encourage others always, stop sinning, do what pleases God always and by so doing you are getting rich toward God. You get rich by the good works you do in the Kingdom of God.

God bless you!!
